Some interesting information on this site. It appears that ex staff of Cartel are posting on an American web site as the owner of Cartel tried to stop them commenting elsewhere.

I hope not, and I mean that most sincerely.
I posted so that people can inform themselves about the use of claims management companies, not to embarrass anyone at MSE. MSE site team claim they are now on the case and this additional information should be forwarded to the relevant regulation bodies.
MSE reaches a wide audience and I appreciate it needs to be careful.
Ordinary folk do need to assess all available information and properly equip themselves. Potential users of claims management companies must also ensure they do not believe everything they are told, when the person or company providing information or advice, has the primary motive of making money from their vulnerable situation.
The wider issues are particularly important given the people and personalities involved, the concept of invalid credit agreements and the issue of granting of a lisence by the MOJ to a firm designed to follow Cartel and their associates.
Remember, it is publically documented that lisence(s) were removed from other companie(s) which the owner(s) of Cartel previously held. The reasons were that they were not fit and proper persons. It is crucial that the MoJ ensure proper "policing" of the activities of some claims management companies.
It also seems that we have unlikely "allies" in respect of former representatives of the company. They may be able to assist ex clients of Cartel- but that is likely to be an unlikely outcome, unfortunately, as the money will not be there for them.
A lot of the representatives of Cartel "bought into" the operation in a kind of franchise type agreement, or a pyramid selling concept and sold to friends and families. It is highly embarassing to them and a lot of them feel quite "guilty" about the advice they gave. It appears they have also lost their "investment" and additionally, they say they have not been paid for some time. They also paid regular monthly sums for administration. It is claimed that the numbers of cases likely to succeed, which would then pay out to clients of Cartel, never materialised. Perhaps this was because there was no real case in the first instance.
Cartel may well have had success in the PPI reclaim market. However, that is relatively straightforward and can be done for free with templates.
It is also know that some related companies directly related to Cartel were in a position to offer other financial products. That also needs further investigation by regulators. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. I do feel a little (not much) sympathy for some of the agents. I believe many of them signed up and took fees from friends, family and neighbours on the promise of getting debts written off. I imagine many are now nervous about even meeting these people again and afraid to answer when the doorbell rings.0 -

Please use this as a reason not to use claim management companies. These companies operate in similar ways.

Lots of similar unhappy people on youtube.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

MOJ seems to be dragging their heels with the Cartel investigation. They are still up and running and authorised. Perhaps we are all going to be surprised!!:eek:0
