Yes but I thought that was the home address not the business address if you see what I mean. I see about us posting addresses but they are registered office. TBH the address thing was just an example. Some of the things that are on there are extremely personal and libelous and/or slanderous. I think if I saw derogatory but true stuff about my company I would take that on the chin and strive to do something about it. If I saw personal comments about me on there then I would take whatever legal action I could.

Saying that I am not as thick skinned as some of these people seem to be.

I was threatened by a director of a pensions firm about legal action after I criticised their product on the pensions forum. They basically said I was wrong yet their own small print verified I was right. This was over a period of the last few years. However, the media have now joined in and the FSA themselves are investigating these types of products.

Often the forums are years ahead of media and regulators etc. So, those doing things wrong will try and shut up people by making threats when they really have no good reason for doing so.

I don't, that was double dutch to someone like me:eek:. Leymans terms please!!!!

Cause MSE is popular and top of google on lots of subjects e.g. if you put in loancheck solicitors you will see that MSE comes top on google. So if you are saying slanderous things about somebody on MSE more people will see it that say if you posted it on a not so popular FORUM. That may be on 2nd or 3rd page so will not be seen by so many people.

I think most people look on the front page of google and the first 4/5 generic entries they then go onto 2nd page first 4/5 entiries and then may go onto third page but do not usually go further than that.

MSE also has double entries on the front page which if you are a company that is the dogs !!!!!!!!. My company has certain keywords that give it double entries on top of google but these can change day by day.

Anyway I think that is what he was meaning.

Yeah me too. If I saw personal things about me on a forum I would do the same but if its about a business that is not getting results and people are getting "desperate" then I would understand. I do agree though about personal things. Best not posted on open forums.

Blimey Dunstonh these people do like wearing big boots:eek: Think these FORUMS are wonderful ways of people keeping up to date with all the latest news and products. Where else can you get so much free advice as we can on here about lots of different subjects.

What I do not understand is why MSE seem to allow hundreds of threads about major banks etc saying things like "HSBC ripped me off", "Natwest are a buch of con artists" and "Barclays drown kittens for fun" which are not deleted, but then are terrified to let posts regarding much smaller and probably nastier people remain. Is it that the majors are truly that much more honorable and prepared to let their critics have a voice?

I think you have hit the nail on the head there. We can say what we want because they will still get their business regardless. Perhaps its the ones that feel that anything bad about them is going to damage them cause really they are not that good. In fact I think when lots of people are shouting about things then it probably makes good business sense to listen surely. You want to please your clients don't you if you are in business and sometimes you do not get it right, thats life, but you would think then you would go about making changes.

    Obvioulsy just a silly view.

Look at the comments on that thread. Makes the threads here (that are now gone) look really tame.

I do like MSE, but I feel that on this occasion they have acted like the mouthy schoolboy who bigs himself up by getting all lippy with the teacher, but then goes very quiet when the classroom bully tells him to shut up.:(
