My DB gave us a microwave, black kettle and black toaster for her last night as my DH called to fit a new light switch for him. So at least we have made a start.:T

MSD - welcome back I've missed you
Julie67 - good luck to your DD
Two days to go... Cannot believe it's only Thursday, this week has dragged something terrible. Have my Uncle's birthday this Saturday so looking forward to that (we usually end up drinking rather a lot of schnapps together while my Mum and Aunt look on disapprovingly
) and then Mother's Day on Sunday so need to decide what I am going to cook for my legend of a Mum, love her
Also need to bully my brother into commiting one way or the other about dinner, otherwise knowing him, he'll turn up with his girlfriend and daughters just as I'm about to dish up and I won't have enough!
Am really cross as the boots I bought last September have holes starting in the leather just above where it joins the sole. They weren't cheap and they were meant to last hence spending the money out in the first place. I know the shop won't take them back as it's been so long and they will probably say it's the way I walk or something so I don't know what to do. I would guess there'd be somewhere I could take them but I can't imagine the usual "cut keys and resole shoes" place would be able to mend them.
Anyway, not masses on the OS front today. Tea tonight will be cod and chorizo cooked in a tomatoey sauce, will probably serve with a jacket potato and some fresh spinach.
Have a lovely day, hugs to all xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
Hi everyone,
the suns shining. veg box was delivered at 7.30 so i have a yummy new recipe to try, sweet onion and potato pie. i guess were having that for tea, we was having beef but i forgot to get it out of the freezer. the leftover puff pastry from the pie i will use to make easy peasy pizza for the kids lunches. (thanks cbbebies i love you sometimes)
just asked a stupid question about oranges, that as soon as it was answered it was so obvious. i really should think before asking questions.
might nip to poundland today to get another blueberry bush, and some more solar lights.
started my hormone treatment this morning...so far so good altho its only been an hr lol.0 -
I must be getting old, They are booking singists for Eden this year and although I could go free, I don't know any of the artists???? Am I that old or out of touch?
N9eav I LOVE Jack Johnson. He can take me back to his home country (Hawaii) and serenade me anytime. I love his music - it's always my sound of the summer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43VyrUFEyNo
the only ones I haven't heard of are Mumford and Sons but at least I am still hip and trendy :rotfl:
Not much going on here. Supposed to be having an electrician round to sort out a problem that we have and I've still not heard from him yet - hope he don't muck me about......
Tea tonight is a mkeshift so probably something like chips or beans on toast.
Not sure whether to bother putting out my sheets. It's not overly sunny and not sure if it's breezy enough to dry them. Getting sick of the clothes horse being up constantly in our bedroom
Haven't sown ANY seeds yet so must get a move on you are all leaving me behind
Julie - good luck to your DD
Hart - hope you feel better soon xx
Sorry I've missed anyone. Kids demanding my prescence. Oh to be sp popular
Hugs to those that need them xI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all......((((((((((((((((((((.Hugs))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
MSD: a fat quarter is a yard of fabric cut in half down the middle and then cut from side to side, you end up with a piece of fabric appr 18" x 20 - 22" depending on the original width. Its amazing what you can make out of fat quarters. When I first started quilting it was a cheap way of building up a stash. Now I buy in yards. I still have some of the original fat quarters.....heaven knows why I bought them, but someday they will all get used in something.
It was overcast, but we just had a burst of sunshine which has disappeared but I can see blue sky....I am hoping to get into the garden and start cutting down the vinca, once I can see where its planted it be be getting dug out. We discovered yesterday what we thought was a fallen log is in fact a shrub, the stem is as thick as a branch on a tree, I need to saw it off, is dead and then we may need to pull it out......OH will continue working on the new veg beds he wants to get the garlic and onions in. We will have to rig up some sort of protection against the rabbits.
Into Haddington this afternoon to do various jobs, I have to pay the bill for the carpet we had laid, must also pay the coal bill.
Time to go and get my old togs on and tackle the jungle, I will take some pictures before I start........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
