I thought it was funny when I first started buying milk abroad and it coming in a bag! Now its catching on here.
Our other alternative is 'The milk man', when I tracked him down he's actually the shepherd and milks the sheep/goats in front of you, but you have to take your own container..................wonder if that'll catch on here???
Also eggs come in a plastic bag, had to buy something here in the £1 shop a plastic egg shaped container thing for that.
Best funny buy is the ice cream cones..................by weight!

I remember milk bags being trialled in the Midlands in the 1970s . The milkman started to deliver them to my grandparents who didn't like them at all lol. They were given a little blue plastic jug to go with them..

As Wyebird states another back to the future idea. I remember buying milk in bags 30+ years ago, usually on campsites.

They're not a new idea. I certainly remember them from the 70s too. We could buy them from the local shop. I don't recall a special jug to go with them though. My mum used to stand hers in a pan. They didn't seem to be around for that long though, so perhaps they didn't sell well, and the idea was scrapped. I guess it has a better chance now, seeing as far more people now recycle, think about packaging, food miles etc
Not for me though. I'm thinking of getting a milkman, so that I can get my milk in lovely glass bottles :)

I remember when we were on holiday in our caravan, some holiday camps had milk in bags. I can remember the little blue jug and the small bags you popped in them.

    Doubt they will catch on.
Downsides are spillage risk, washing the jug, some members of the family may find the jug difficult to use.

It's the norm in places like Canada that you get milk in bags and use a jug!
