Thanks for the info on the breakfast...I think we will do the breakfast package as the holiday for a week has cost a lot more than in this country..They wanted over £1,000 for a villa at sherwood forest which is about 20 mile from us..We paid less than £400 for holland and ferry for free courtesy of Mr Tesco..I think we will book the breakfasts...A good fill up for the day..Thanks jfdi0

did you book through Cresta? - I wasn't sure if you could still book Centreparcs using clubcard vouchers, or even if Cresta were still doing Centreparc holidays. Would be good to know if they are.0 -
We booked online through centerparcs website for the holiday..We paid cash..We were waiting last year for Cresta to let us know if they were still doing centerparcs but they don't anymore....We paid for the ferry with tesco vouchers...0

Pity, and a pity that Cresta are withdrawing from the clubcard scheme altogether - we have had some good holidays through them with clubcard points including Centreparcs. Thanks for letting me know for definate though. Happy holiday.0 -
You can book through French Life with tesco vouchers although I think their prices are slightly more expensive and they only deal with the french centerparcs... even so it still works out much cheaper than the UK ones!!sarahjw wrote:did you book through Cresta? - I wasn't sure if you could still book Centreparcs using clubcard vouchers, or even if Cresta were still doing Centreparc holidays. hi thanks for help guys - in a hurry so will do full reply later
found the cpweb code on their site when first looked but it didnt activate for the week I want till last friday (haven't booked yet so can use it) brings the price down to £329.95 to rent the villa
As for the hire car, with the holiday price dropping I can afford to hire now so looked around and U-drive who are based where I live appear to be the cheapest hire company so looking to go with them, BONUS my boss has an account with them so can prob get me a preferential rate :PIn dreams there are no impossibilities0 -
Hi there!
Hope that you have a great time. I don't think that you've put where you're going?
Certainly at the Longleat one guest numbers seem to be outstripping pool capacity at the moment. Eat away from peak times & enjoy a less crowded pool at meal times. Also the pool is great for the hour before it closes.
Take your own bikes if you can.
Shop at a nearby supermarket rather than on site, & don't forget that the car isn't out of bounds while you are there. You can pop out to the local shops, it's just that they make it feel awkward. Check out the local supermarkets online before you go & print off a map.
There are often good meal deals if you eat out early in the evening.
The food in the actual pool area is inexpensive but mainly hot dogs etc..
Take your own blow up ball etc to avoid the temptation to buy all the toys on sale there!
HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!!
Love,
The swimming cow
PS
CP try to be very customer focused, so if you do have a problem, complain & you will probably get results. The cow is of the bovine ilk,
One end is moo, the other milk.0 -
thank you - okies looking at whinfell in cumbria as although there are parks closer to us whinfell is the cheapest and by the time you factor in the difference in fuel cost its negligeable, besides never been to the lake district before and as this is my first ever holiday since I was 3 (social paid for my parents to have a week in a caravan at durdle door) and I've just turned 27 I don't particularly feel like holidaying too close to home.
one thing that I'm considering for next year as a holiday is to go and live in the middle of a forest for a week (its actually like a woodcraft course but you come away with your own longbow at the end, and as I practice archery for a hobbby this sounds like it could be a great holdiay)
ps
about the breaksfasts - on the booking form among all the extras you can pay for such as a grocery bag etc are breakfast passes, these cost £23.95 per person but allow you to get breakfast anywhere on site each day. persnoally I'd save the cash and buy some bacon egg sausage etc from a supermarket and cook breakfast in the lodge before I left for the day, besides there's something about being able to have brekky in yer jims jamsIn dreams there are no impossibilities0 -
I'm not sure if this would work/be allowed at CP, or if there is a Tesco near enough to deliver, but....
Last year we went with friends to a holiday cottage in the Lakes, we got the full address beforehand, found out it was within a Tesco.Com delivery area, and we sat down and made a meal plan, of food we all liked, easy meals, fruit, junk etc, and booze. Then ordered it from Tesco for delivery on the first evening, splitting the cost between us.
It meant, the car wasn't loaded with food, you didn't need to find a supermarket when we got there, or buy food at the very expensive corner shop. We all got food we wanted, and mucked in to cook it, and of course I used my Tesco Clubcard, so had extra points!!
Very stress free
have a great holiday.:j0 -
Went to winfell this year. The pool should cope with the amount of people. There is a morrisons just as you come off the M6. Make your way into Penrith rather than go around.
As has been said take you own bike if you can £20 for a weeks hire. We went in the spar 3hrs plus for £30 if you make it mid weak it gives you something to look forward to. Think it is cheaper after 6pm
Is there some sort of Van you can hire to seat 4 but take all the bikes?
Take plenty to do books games music Play sation etc
If you find anything not right with the Villa etc tell them at reception ask for the manager and the usely give you a meal voucher. The measure of love is love without measure0
