Centre Parcs

Hi plannin to go to centre parcs for a week with 4 friends, just trying to work out how to make it a bit cheaper.

already shaved £300 off the price by changing from the last week of august to the first week of september (avoid school hols)

any other tips or promotions people can throw at me?

also looking to maybe borrow or hire a car for the week as my little 1.0L polo while a nice moneysaving car, isnt really up to taking 5 adults and associated luggage hundreds of miles up the motorway, for starters I doubt we'd all fit :)

so any tips on getting a cheap hire car (estate or people carrier) also welcome - I know I may be able to get U-drive to give me a slightly better price than advertised if I can persuade my boss to put it on his account and let me pay him. Hopefully I can blag one of my friends to lend me theres for the week.

thanks in advance

i wouldn't hire a car if i could help it as you can't use your car while you are there anyway. would seem a waste

I've just booked to go to a CP in Holland in August, and even with the ferry and travel insurance factored in, it is still just over half the price of the equivilent break in this country!

Its a good job you have moved from a school holiday week.
Midweek breaks are fully booked during the school holidays at all UK centre parcs. So you would not have been able to get a full week.
  • thank you all for your replies

nicola - I dont want to hire but unfortunately as I said my car ( A VW Polo ) is not big enough to carry five adults AND all their lugage as the boot is tiny. It is for that reason I am considering the hire. A friend of mine suggested maybe getting the train up or book a minibus or something to drive us up. Unfortunately the cost of both is prohibitive as adult train fare for 5 people to go from north to south would cost more than the holiday. And as for paying somoen to drive us up, I have just driven from bournemouth to doncaster and back (for work) we charged £180 for a small van to take 5 boxes - imagine what a minibus firm would charge. besides its nice to have the freedom to get there and leave on our own schedule.

OK Sauce - I would have looked into a european break if I had a passport :)

simes - hell yeah! there were still some breakss available for the very last week of august when I checked, but as I said they were £300 dearer - and I am attempting to be a money saver after all :) besides even tho the people I'm going with are still at college, they dont start back till 2nd week of sep

  • Have you actually booked it??

If not try the code CPWEB and see if it knocks any off. If so it will be around 20%-25% off. It is only available for certain dates tho.

    Might be worth a try!!

We've never been to one in Holland before, only France. To be honest I've never booked any food packages, opting instead to go to a local supermarket to 'stock up'. I haven't really worked out if the food packages are value for money or not. As long as I have a bacon butty and a cup of tea I'm set up for the day!

We had the Breakfast delivered daily to us when we CP'ed in Holland (it was included in the price then).

Don't know if it's the same now (was 3 yrs ago), but saved us buying anything else except evening meal!

Different nation's brekkie every day? USA, UK, France, Continental etc.

Go for it if not too £££££££

    BTW - 2 Adults & 2 15yo males in our party.
