And today, the new search facility also seems to believe that Poole, London, and Hertfordshire are within 10 miles of Durham.

    Geographical Update.

Today, the Direct.gov website has now determined that Portsmouth, Lincoln, Humberside and Catterick are now within 15 miles of Durham.

Could there be some geological shift that is causing this anomaly?

I just found a job entitled...
    NUMBER PLATE CLEANING OPERATIVE

No previous cleaning experience is required as full training will be provided. You must be able to work four hours a day Monday to Friday. Duties will involve damp wipe cleaning number plates and all other related duties as required.

I'd do it  But is it just me or is that a weird job? I've never seen anything like that before anyway...

you would think they would save the 4 hours wages and get the drivers to do it?

I absolutely agree with you both. One things that really annoys me as well is when the ad says send CV / application to so and so. I spend an hour or two on the application letter as I like to tailor it to the role and when i submit my application with my CV, the employer replies with 'Thank you for your interest in the role. Please fill in an application form by visiting this website....". I usually don't bother with those afterwards. If they're so incompetent in getting the job advert right, I wouldn't want to work for them!

The employer might screen the CV and letter, only issuing an application form to those who pass this first stage.

Thank you - never thought of it like that before, very helpful indeed!

I saw a job on there today, so i thought i apply, had to ring the 0845 number from my mobile to get the details from the jobcentre, I was given an email address and was told to send my CV to them, which I did, thats no problem, Im just wondering if I hear back as I have sent my CV off to lots of companys and never hear anything back.

I even tracked down the company's website and have emailed them there also, what harm can it do.

Theses 0845 numbers to the job centre should be free!!!

I had a call this morning asking me for an interview tomorrow, so sometimes it does work to call 0845, I did not expect to hear anything so I am hopeful. I ve had 2 interviews this month, the guy said he was very interested in seeing me !!! Lets hope tomorrow brings some good news. I will not give up until I find a job.:T
