I was just thinking about this, I'm on the Scottish Power fixed till 2011 and as the cuts don't seem to be that much presumed that I was still on a good deal maybe a bit of research is called for in the manweb area

Why can't you move to Online Tariff 9? Do you mean they won't let you move without a penalty fee or they just won't let you move at all?

They will not let me move to the new on line 9 tariff, apparently company policy.I have no exit penalty fees.

My package was extended without Scottish Power contacting me asking me to opt out. I will be slapped an exit fee of £50 if I leave early
I also am not allowed to move onto the new tariff.
ScottishPower Company representative here. You asked for my details a while back. Which I gave to you. Still no reply?

    Hi acc

If you are currently on one of our Online Energy tariffs then the gas price decrease will not affect you. This also goes for customers who are currently being billed on a fixed contract tariff.

The recent OLE8 tariff had a large reduction in the gas prices anyway so you may find that you are still benefiting from better rates.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try my best to answer these for you.

    Kind Regards

    Colin @ ScottishPower

    Question for SP rep.....

I am currently on Standard online dual fuel - would I be able to move to Online Energy Saver 9 Dual Fuel ?

    Hi WTTM

Sorry for the delay in responding to you.

The OLE9 is offered to new customers only. If you are on a standard online tariff I would recommend contacting us to check alternative tariffs as we will certainly be able to offer a better deal.

    Kind Regards

Great - just new customers. Been a Scottish Power customer for nearly 10 years now and that's how they treat existing customers.

Can get better deals elsewhere and cashback as a bonus. I expect the best deal for loyalty, not a better deal.

I was about to switch both Gas & Elect to ScottishPower's Online Energy Saver 9 Duel Fuel tariff today. Am I best waiting for the price cut to be applied before switching now?

No, because it will take 4-6 weeks to do the switch-the rate is being cut from 1/4/10.
