    Hi Guys

Just thought I would provide some additional information regarding our gas price decrease which will be taking effect from 31st March 2010.

Gas prices for an average customer using 20,500kWh annually are reducing by an average of 8%. Specifically:

    · Monthly Direct Debit gas is decreasing by an average of 5.86%

    · Quarterly Credit gas is decreasing by an average of 6.5%

    · Weekly payment gas is decreasing by an average of 9.7%

    · Prepayment gas is decreasing by an average of 9.76%

The actual decrease will vary depending on payment method, fuel type and the area you live in.

On average, a Dual Fuel customer who pays monthly by Direct Debit will see an annual saving of around £54*.

Above figures shown include VAT at the current applicable rate of 5%.

    * Based on an average ScottishPower Gas & Electricity Offer customer with annual mains gas usage of 20,500kWh and annual Standard Rate electricity usage of 3,300kWh, who pays monthly by Direct Debit. Excludes prompt payer discounts. Prices correct as at 31st March 2010.

If you have any questions let me know and I will do my best to answer these for you.

    Kind Regards

    Colin @ ScottishPower

Why can't you move to Online Tariff 9? Do you mean they won't let you move without a penalty fee or they just won't let you move at all?

I'm an existing SP customer and wanted to switch to this tariff as well, but it appears it's "Brand new customers only!"

I asked a question of the Scottish Power representative and the question is commented on by someone who thinks he is a mind reader.

    Hi

Phoned SP today to find out if I would see my bills going down, and was told that as I'm already on their cheapest tariff, my prices wouldn't change. How can that be? Prices go down, but not for all customers. Looks like I'll be doing a screenscrape and jumping ship. Pretty hacked off with all suppliers for not passing on savings to their customers as it is.

I don't see what there is to be mad about... you're still paying less than everyone else at Scottish Power... If you want to feel the 'benefit' of price decreases, then stick on standard tariff and pay more overall.
