Very rarely buy fizzy drinks at all, maybe at Christmas to use as mixers.... I tend to buy an own brand as it's just as good when mixed with other stuff.

And yes it does do things to your teeth, my sister once ended up with a horrible brown stain on her front tooth due to coke and she hadnt even drunk that much of the stuff (She was about 10 at the time).

I just pop in now and then.... :)

I prefer Coca Cola, but I do like Virgin Cola - Its the only alternative I would buy (not diet variety tho! yukky stuff and cant get rid of the aftertaste it leaves for ages).

Dont like Pepsi in fact I prefer a nice glass of red wine :p or ice cold

    Happy Thursday everyone :hello:

I bought a bottle of Lidls own brand diet coke at 39p for two litres and thought it was great, will definately buy it again.

Agreed - and even better - it's half price at the moment (19p).

Has a different combination of sweeteners than "normal" diet colas, as well as aspartame and acesulfame k (like pepsi max and coke zero) it also has sodium cyclamate. The latter is in German diet coke and I much prefer it to UK diet coke.

But - make sure you buy the "freeway" one from Lidl (usually 39p, currently 19p) as the other cheaper one is grim! :)

Surely the question here is 'is Coke a rip-off?'
I have a newsagent shop. UK made Coca-Cola from the wholesalers / cash & carry costs £12.50 + VAT. A local distributor sells the same product but sourced from Europe for £8.50 case + VAT. Taste is the same although Diet Coke is labeled Coke Light.

When away on holiday I got a taste for Iced Tea, know it's sugared etc but it was very pleasant and boy they certainly like the stuff, all different flavours. Peach, Mango, Lemon, Orange, Cherry Lime etc etc. I think we only get the lemon stuff here by Lipton, no fancy flavours :-(

Just checked and Tesco stock the Lemon and Peach flavours. Nisa and Spar stock the Mango flavour. Nice.

See this link for info on Lipton Ice Tea and various free competitions and goodies etc, London only though unfortunately...

DW loves iced tea (don;t like it myself). LIDL used to do a 2 litre carton but for some reason has stopped doing it ... she says it was very nice

I wasn't keen on iced tea myself, having only tried the lemon one in the past but all the nice flavours they have now, it's worth giving it a go. I'm hooked, off to Tesco/Nisa first opportunity. :-)

  • The moneysaving way would be to make your own iced tea - very easy and much cheaper! : )

  • I used to drink pepsi but if I had fish and chips from the chippy I had coke but now I don't have either. :)
Nothing to see here, move along.

A nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc always goes down well with fish & chips. :)
