What should I ask George Osbourne

i'd like to know why when the tories say we need to cut public spending they want to create a new ministry called the office for budget responsibility.
presumably this is because a 2:1 in history and a network of posh mates doesn't actually qualify you to run an economy so osborne wants to fall back on his usual tactic of piggybacking on those more competent and capable than he is.
what a joke that party are. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

Goodness it's just as well GB doesn't have any posh mates eh? Otherwise we would be in real trouble....
Martin I would like to see a commitment from G.O to 'open up the books' if they get into power* so we can all fully understand how badly Labour have scre*ed the pooch..
* Not really - noone would lend to the UK ever again!Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -

You should know better than to ask a sensible question of some of the pondlife in this forum.
I would suggest asking Osborne about what the Tories plans for regulation of the banking sector are to avoid a repetition of the financial meltdown we had.
Do they intend to beef up the FSA or do they intend to bring the regulation back under the bank of England. Certainly avoid dwelling on the issue of the disastrous Labour management of the economy and concentrate on what the Tories would do.
Did I not read this correctly?
And if you wouldn't mind responding in the discussion link from there not here that'd be rgeat.
Martin'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

and what qualifications did brown have or darling for that matter?
i'll tell you - brown has the same history degree as osbourne. darling has a law degree.
so, your point is....0 -

What, you prefer Alistair Darling's 2:1 in Law instead?
Do you realise the Labour party have posh people too? Harriet Harman, Hilary Benn, Tony Blair0 -

yes and the anti-apartheid movement had white people too. but at least they were trying to level the playing field. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

before his phd brown got an outstanding first class degree having been admitted to university at just 15 years old and also became the youngest ever rector of edinburgh university. far more impressive achievements than osborne's silver-spooned mediocre qualification. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

I've no idea what that means, but if you actually look at Cameron's cabinet there are only three Old Etonians in it, and like Labour 's cabinet there are a mix of people from different backgrounds. Don't let David Cameron's background make you think the whole shadow cabinet are toffs.
Let's do a simple comparison with George Osborne, who you obviously think is a 'toff' and Harriet Harman:
Osborne: Aristocratic connections
Harman: Aristocratic connections
Osborne: St. Paul's School
Harman: St. Paul's School for Girls
I can see the Labour propaganda machine works well on you.0
