It's not a ludicrous policy at all. Sainsbury's are doing far more than they have to by actually offering the opportunity to return goods. They aren't exactly asking the world to expect the purchaser to return them with a proof of purchase.
But she wanted an exchange-not a credit note...0 -
Its not Stealing, because you are not taking anything off the shelf and walking out of the shop without paying for it!
You are merely taking an item off the shelf; to the customer service desk and requesting a refund!
Surely if you are going to nick something; the last thing you wanna do is go back to the 'scene of the crime'!0 -

You'd be surprised at how bold thieves are.
Or how stupid.
A few months ago, a colleague of mine was selling a camera to a guy. He took the camera out of the secure cupboard, gave it to the customer and walked with him to the till.
As my colleague started to walk away, the guy tried to just walk out of the door with it, past security, looking as confident as if he'd just bought it. He was caught, but only because my colleague saw him sauntering off.
If someone takes something off the shelf, as long as the person at customer services hasn't SEEN the person steal it, the only way they can know whether the customer has paid or not is to see a receipt.0 -
Good luck and hope this helps.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
bit late to bother with anything as the thread is over 4 months old.0
