Another left handed here :) I pretty much do most things right handed though! I write in my left but anyting else is almost always right handed.
Just leave him be and he will discover what suits him best.

Anyway, i love writing in my left hand! It makes me feel special :)

    Both my dds are lefties.

DD(17) writes and plays darts with her left hand, but does everything else with her right hand. She kicks with her right foot too.

She has never been able to use left handed scissors.

DD(8) does everything with her left hand and actually cut her finger in her sewing lesson this week because they only have right handed fabric scissors.

My dad is also a leftie and he does everything with his left hand too - I can't watch him using a saw as looks dangerous!! :rotfl:

They all do back to front ticks and both dds had messy writing - well dd(8) still does, but dd(17) has very neat writing now.

They also tend to get ink on their hand until they can learn to turn the paper, or write from above.

I say let him find out what works for him as that will undoubtedly turn out to be the best.

ETA: having said all that, dd(8) uses our right hand mouse without any problems whatsoever. She has been using the computer from around 18 months old though so I guess she has just got used to it being that way.

But then again, we have never had left handed scissors at home and yet she still struggled to use right handed ones at school...

Just skimmed through this, my eldest is left handed (the only one ever in the family) and the youngest is right handed one question when your son kicks a ball is he left or right footed?

We don't have left handed scisors at home either; but dad is left handed and will use the ones intended for right handed people.

My dad is a leftie but was made to use his right hand when he was little (they tied his left to the chair!), so now he is more ambi.

My brother is left-handed but does some things right handed

My husband is right handed but eats left handed

I am right handed but do lots of things with whichever hand is easiest, like drink a cuppa.

    i don;t think it matters!

You could always ask your son to try writing with his right hand and see if he finds it any easier but if not who cares?

I'm left handed for writing, right handed for absolutely everything else I can think of.

Ahh, correction, I use the laptop cursor pad thingy with my left also.

I use my left for the cursor pad, right for the mouse as that's how it was set up when I was younger.

Am I the only clumsy left handed person here?

i'm left handed but eat right handed and use my mouse right handed. i once worked in an office where we were all left handed and then we got a right handed person to work with us - they really struggled as the room was set up for us lefties - made a change.

buy a left handed fountain pen and then lend it to a right handed person, the nibs are ground the other way and it just digs in the paper and makes a mess.

just let your son make his own choice

Left handed here too:wave: <<<< little left handed wave for you there;)

I use my mouse in my right hand and eat right handed. I think just about everything else I do is left handed though.
