  • Hi Everyone, hope you are all ok! I have a lot of catching up to do on here, so please bear with me!! have just found out that i am expecting first baby on 1st June.... our wedding was arranged for 24th june, so after a lot of talking and deciding we have moved the wedding forward for the 15th April!! so i am going to be joining this thread... its a strange feeling going from one week having 8 months odd to do the pplanning to the friday after being pregnant and only 6 months for it now!! lol.

brief info on whats going on with me wedding wise so can hopefully catch up...
me + Oh got engaged last november at disney paris infront of mickey mouse (on ur 3rd visit! lol), so there is a disney theme through the day! colours hot pink, orange (BM dresses/ushers shirts black)
    Registry office changed date over,
    photographer changed date over
rugby club for reception changed date over
BM and FG dresses picked - just need to do measurements in Jan to order,
Wedding breakfast - fish and chips with ice cream van turning up as a surprise after the speeches
sweetie bar - jars all brought, sweets to be got
all table decorations sorted and brought (apart from table cloths)
invitations - all in spare room, ready to be assembled
save the dates were sent; will update in most peopls xmas cards then send invites out in Jan
Flowers - all artificial and ready to be arranged
Honey moon - waiting to hear from OH parents if able to push it back to 2012 (they brought it for us as a wedding present to go to disney florida for 2 weeks..never been on a plane before and so excited- we dont want to cancel as its once in lifetime for us and wont get the chance for years otherwise! hoping to go april 2012 as honeymoon/anniversary)
we have had to take a cut on our budget so rings and few other things have been cut - so not sure what we doing there at the moment.

cant think of anything else at the moment!
we been really fortunate and at the moment we have only lost around £40 on things we ordered from vista print with our original date on. going to reorder few bits. We have got the brochures through thursday that were orderd to go in our invites with date/address/time/food choice information - look really professional!
I will try and read up on the other pages today so know where i am at!

    hope everyone is ok!!

    Wow!!
Welcome to the April thread curlylou! How exciting for you.
With your sweetie bar where did you get the jars from?

Bloody lucky you were so organised!
Hello, can I join this thread too please? :j

H2B and I have a tentative date of 23rd April for our wedding, just waiting for confirmation from venue. We hadnt been able to make a date until this last week as H2B is in the forces, and is being posted in January and we werent sure where he would be going/whether I would have to move etc, and we now know, so its really exciting!

I have ordered my dress, the rings have been bought, the hen night is being planned, the blanks for the invites, and the bits and pieces needed for them have been ordered. Need to get BM's dresses, start thinking about my accessories, hair and make up booked.

I have an idea for table decorations, but want to wait and see what venue can offer. We are not having favours, but handmade chocs in the rooms of everyone that is staying at the venue, so need to speak to the chocolatier about that.

I am getting really excited now, we have been engaged for a year and a half, and it was so frustrating not being able to make the date! We hopefully hear tomorrow about the venue, and then assuming H2B can get the time off, its all systems go!

Oh heck, we will need to think about our honeymoon too - I can forsee a few sleepless nights in the coming months!

    Welcome Tartantotty!
Honeymoon ideas we can help with! Any inital thoughts?
oh my goodness I am finding this so daunting!!!

Mrs Moore To Be, you are sooo organised!!! I too am getting married on 30 April!!! Hurrah! The following day (May 1) is my 40th birthday! Party all weekend!! Yippee!! (this is my first marriage! I am super excited!!!)

I got engaged on July 25 and started planning properly on Sept 1 (although we'd booked the reception in August). We have booked/paid deposits on the following:

    -wedding dress (all paid for)
    - Church plus vicar in OH's village in S. Devon. (booked)
    - My gospel choir that I sing in will be coming all the way from Watford for the weekend, just to sing in our wedding! Fab! (booked)
    - Classical guitarist to strum me up the aisle and also to play background music at the drinks reception and meal. (booked and deposit paid)
    - Reception for 100 guests: a buffet at a hotel in Totnes, Devon. ( booked and deposit paid)
    - Photographer. (booked and deposit paid)
    - Wedding cake from M and S. (finally agreed with my mother!)

Thats as far as we've got so far. We are a week away from confirming the live band - will be checking out the band we'd like to book next Saturday. And don't even start on wedding cars!!! !!!

Bridesmaids dresses: dont even go there... one bm lives in Minnesota, USA, the other in London... very tricky to co-ordinate. Was going to have 3 BMs, with the third one living in Sydney, Oz! - but sadly had to say no to the Oz BM - just too hard as it is to find agreement having 2 BMs, so far apart!!!

And, without knowing for sure the colour of the BM dresses, we can't really move forward on colour scheme/invites/flowers blah di blah. .. and, I am sure I have forgotten something! Hey ho!

Oh and I can't quite believe what people are charging for coming out to do hair and make up!!! Daylight robbery!!!! what are you getting done, re: hair and Make up, April brides?

And yes like many others I am pretty much planning it all on my todd! :( although, OH is happy to talk things through, he's pretty s-l-o-w at making decisions!!!

anyway nice to 'meet' you all!

    Take care

    Grownupgirly. xxxxx

Yay datetwin, well triplet with magicboo too! :D

Hair and make up ive not sorted, I had found a good deal but it would mean leaving the hotel to travel there and back and I would rather have thgem 'on site' with me to touch up etc.

You have a nightmare with BM dresses  Glad mine are sorted x

Morning all, just got back from the florist and have managed to get flowers for everyone and 8 long & low table centres for £255 :j

    I have ordered

Hand-tied posy of Ivory roses, with greenry inc looped bare grass

3 smaller hand -tied posies with ivory roses and freesia with greenry

    2 small posies for flowergirls

    6 rose button holes

    2 Corsages for 2 mums

and the 8 small long and low table centres for the reception

I thought that was quite good for all that, if I need more table centres or anything added they are happy to add to it. so now i don't need to go back until March :j

I also now have all 3 bridesmaids dresses and shoes brought and delivered. 2 flowergirls shoes arrived yesterday from ebay. they have a few marks on them but I figure the kids will only get them dirty anyway but if anyone has any ideas on how I could maybe clean them up without ruinign them that would b fab :)

I also returned my shoes yesterday. so i'm back to square 1 looking for those :(.

I have found a wedding car for £185, I found the company on guides for brides. the man who owns it just says rolls royce not which actual car it is but the small pic by his ad shows its a nice car so I think we will just book that. Still waiting to hear from the local vicar about reading banns for us in the local parish so I think I will have to ring him.

Must stop babbling now lol just getting excited that everything is coming together. I think I will post again with a list of things sorted so I can just see and compare where I am with all u lovely fellow April brides :)

I have just found the original thread-called "cool invites" and written on it to bump it so you can see!
I'm going to have my charm party at the end of Nov, I'm currently rehearsing for an am dram play which will be on 10-13th Nov, so have no evenings free at the moment!
I'm sure there's a 4th person getting married on the 30th April, but I can't remember who it was...
    xx
