I need some good recommendations for my nails please guys????? I have a tendancy to bite my nails as minging as it sounds but i cant help it. If i want nails for a hol or night out i use the glue on nails or get them professionally done. I was to grow my nails in time for my big day and dont know what to use. I have tried that awful nail vanish to stop me biting but it doesnt work. Any suggestions i would be very grateful x

I heard on the radio a while ago about this idea of creating a "mental blocking" so when you went to do something you wanted to stop (for me it's itching my eczema) such as biting your nails, you're brain triggered a reaction and stopped you. The idea was that it is a subconscious thing, and we don't even know we are doing it. But I've been unable to find anything on t'internet because I don't know the proper name for it!
Sounds good in theory though! x

    Morning April Brides,
Honey_rose-I have bought my hand cream in this morning, and it is going to sit by my computer at work to remind me to use it all the time (I'll probably end up with a very greasy keyboard & not be able to type!)!
Bride2be24-I was thinking about your nails...could you do the "10 steps to nails" (!) and start by just stopping biting one nail (perhaps the wedding ring finger, to remind you why you're doing it!) and then when it is looking lovely, try to stop biting 2 nails etc.. then you can stop gradually and it might be a bit easier?

  • Magicboo - I'm doing the greasy type now, lol! All be worth it in the end!!

I really need to start on my regime (I don't have one at the minute:o) can anyone recommend any products that don't break the bank?

Bride2be, have you heard of a thing called tapping? Its used for fears and phobias. Its a distraction technoque, that could work? x

  • Sammr85 - I've just bought mine all from No7. I bought the Radiance Hot Cloth Cleanser, Toner for sensitive skin and the Perfect and Protect day moisturiser and it's made a huge difference to my skin.

I went into Boots and the No7 consultant helped me pick the products that were right for my skin.

All No7 products are 3for2 at the moment so I managed to get the lot for under £30! :j The products are huge too so I think they will last quite a while.

    Hope that helps :)

Just incase any other April brides are reading this and had no intention of having a beauty regime: Don't worry, you are not alone. Never cleansed, toned or moisturised yet and not intention of starting for the wedding :p

Had to have a rethink on the homemade invites, the design I had was a bit too time consuming so I've simplified it a bit and it looks much better.

Starting to worry that I'll not get things done on time as the baby has been really hard work lately with his teething and has barely sleep for a fortnight
