  • Hey,
Hope everyone has had brilliant hen do's this weekend - they do sound fab!! Dirty dancing lessons, dream boys, mexican, painting etc... whoop!
Happy 30th Gleeful :j- sorry day late! Hope you had a great time celebrating too!!
Sammr - love the dress too, its so pretty!!

I have had to be honest a awful weekend. not done anything to do with the wedding at all - had it all planned out what was going to do and sort as the week had been really productive.
Was my bday on wednesday, ad day off with OH which was nice - went to the seaside in afternoon for a walk once had finished table plan (and realising missded two people off!!!) then dinner with my mum and sister.was lovely.
    (WARNING: rant/long moan ahead)
Friday however got phone call bout half ten, i was asleep and OH answerd - my mum and sister had house broken into. they in pieces happened between 1 and 6pm.... in daylight!!! so been there all weekend helping them - which has completly worn me right out, getting tired more now with bubs as it is, but spent whole weekend cleaning everywhere with my mum. they broke through patio door with a trowel, opened all cupbaords in kitchen - every pot/biscuit tin/storgae jar opend and tipped out, living room untouched part from mums old jewlery box smashed to piecees on the foor - their rooms, well ransacked is the only word. drawers thrown with clothes out everywhere, wardrobes emptied-top to bottom, drawers under bed etc..everything like that. was awful. tv/ds/laptop/etc all left not even touched nor prints (just like things in kitchen) police reckon was after gold and cash. my sister was upset cos she couldnt find her tiffany bracelt she got for 21st, but they were there. nothing of hers was taken, but things from mum were - she not worn the necklaces and things in years - which why in jelwery box on shelf in wardrobe - gold chains with little pendants on it all gone, thing thats upset her the most thats been taken is her wedding and engagement ring and my dads wedding ring. which is something that also really upset everyone else too. means jack all to whoever taken it, where as they have taken something that holds memories for my mum of marrying my dad (had to take rings off cos arthuritus in fingers and she got a new ring to replace them) and his ring, another piece of him gone now. grrr. am so angry! they both worried about being there on their own, and dont feel comfortable at all. I just didnt know how to help :o( cleaned eveything down like what had been touched and did few loads of their washing while they tried sort out things back into drawers. i hate seeing them cry, was so difficult.
THey were so worrieed bout my dress being ruined as thats in spare room along with all the baby bits they been getting but that room wasnt even touched at all.
so yeah - its been pretty rubbish. got back bout 4 i think today, and am feeling useless and a wreck cos i couldnt do more.

sorry for long rant and moan, just needed to let it out - could have just done with out this at the moment, its difficult time as it is with everything coming up so fast!!

hope everyone else is ok xx

So sorry to hear bout ur mum and sister Curlylou.

Sounds like everyone had a fab honeymoon, bournemouth must b the place to go lol. I've also had my surprise hen night, it was on Friday. 1st I went jewellery making which was fun, then we had a grease themed dinner dance, had a fab time even though I didn't dance much! Then on Saturday we had OH's "hag" do which was a nice meal with the best man and his W2B then back to our local for a couple of drinks!

Also finished paying for the reception yesterday which was cheaper than we thought :) so thats another payment ticked off the list. Just a couple of bits to buy now, like cufflinks for OH and DS.

Hope everyone elses plans r coming along nicely xxx

Glad to hear everyone had a nice weekend. Hen went Ok, just glad its over as one less thing to worry about!

The Bridesmaids tried on their dresses at the weekend...

None of them are too small which is a relief however one BM has lost sooo much weight it just hangs off her... grrr. Mum will have to alter it in the week before the wedding by just taking it in at the sides. The sashes are also bunching up at the waist as the material is so shiney so we will have to work out a way of keeping them wide around the waist as it looks so much better (if anyone has any ideas then let me know). Still I think my mum did very well! Still not sure what to do with their hair. One has had her hair cut short with layers all over so they wont all be the same style now.

I am also worrying about my hair as not sure I like it that much now! worry worry worry...

really like your bridesmaid dresses aarchk!

i was just wondering if people are giving flowers to their mother's on the day? i know its a bit of a tradition thing and my mum has done loads to help with organising it so would love to get her something. OH's mum has not done anything on the other hand...... also what about dad's? again mine has put in a bit of money so would like to get him something - is flowers the norm on the day too?

    any help much appreciated!

flowers are the norm but I have about £600 pounds worth of cut flowers for them to help themselves to so I think they will already have a load to take away. Instead I am buying them a plant called 'wedding day' that they can put in their garden.

Plus at only £7.99 its a cheaper option but still with some thought if you get what I mean! I have also bought other things for them. MIL is arranging the flowers so I got a Jane Packer flower arranging book (half price in the sale) and I am on the hunt for a necklace or somthing for my mum.

Not sure what to do for my stepdad though! He has coughed up a lot and will be doing a lot of running around so I want to get something for him...

Im going for a dress fitting tomorrow then a final one on the 16th.
    Hen weekend is next weekend.
Been a busy week sorting out the name places, table plan, postbox. Favours and cake topper being made in will be here in a couple of weeks. Got the flip flop sign to make this week.
    How are we all doing?
Anyone got any advice for feet care? I have cracked heels and it doesnt look so nice with sandals on the honeymoon! xx

Picked up my dress this morning - a bit worried about how heavy it is as it's meant to be carry on luggage. We haven't got any weighing scales here to weigh it, so I may have to take it to my M&D's tonight to use their's. Also need to double check on the virgin website to see what size we are allowed to take on.

Mrs Moore To Be, if you have any E45 cream, that is meant to be great for cracked heels - you put it on with socks on overnight and it soaks in and softens them. If you don't have any in, you could try olive oil or baby oil in the same way, or a body butter. This link may help too.

ETA: Checked the measurements, and they are all ok (they are the maximum allowed on my airline), and have found out the maximum weight is 6kg or 13lb. Need to weigh it now.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
