OD will benefit from the card payments no longer being made... Try working out a realistic reduction for each month and you'll find yourself competing to beat the target (at least that's what happened to me. I was amazed at how I suddenly could find an extra 10, 20, 50 (or even once 200) in a month to reduce the OD.) It did help that the OD was in a separate account to my salary account so it wasn't confused by normal spends etc.

My OD is a separate account, it is just treated as a debt these days as living out of it just meant it was never going down. I would always look at my balance and think oooo I have hundreds available, I'll go shopping, when really I had less than nothing available.

I do need to be more strict with myself, but getting the house sorted out has come at a cost. Luckily I'm still afloat, but the debtbusting is lacking a little til everything is straight.

OK, time for my next burst of motivation...the washer just finished and I need to make the bed since I got out of it over 2 hours ago!!!

I've done that with my OD too - set up a new bank account to use for everything and treating the OD as a debt to be paid off. It's quite nice seeing a positive balance when my wages go in now!

Bookie - I am a poll clerk (work for the local council) and it is good money, but it is a long day. Uusally you have to be there at 6.30am as the station opens at 7am and then you are there until 9pm or even 10pm if it is the General Election I seem to remember.

It is ok if you are in a busy station but if you get a rural one, it can be very slow and boring. You are not allowed to leave the station at all so you have to make sure you take enough food for the day - they should have facilities for tea/coffee etc, and a book to read.

  • Afternoon all,

Just popping in for a few minutes before I go back to the grindstone!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Everyone keeps asking me if I'm ok as I've been quiet as of late. It's nice, but it's starting to get annoying now!

Right, time to crack on with some work.

Sending lots of love and hugs everyone's way.
