Afternoon everyone and <<hugs >. to those in need, just off to craft class in a minute. We are making cards to go out to the soldiers in Afghanistan in a big parcel.Lots of the lads can't buy stuff out there to send to their wives and family at home so one of the local army chaps is organising stuff for them to be able to send to their families. We shall be doing Easter and birthday cards for them, hopefully a lot of them will be home before Christmas.
My DGS had a very long day yesterday at Pinewood he left at 6.00.a.m and it took him three hours to drive there and he didn't finish until 11.40.p.m. last night and it was 1.00.a.m. this morning before he got home.He was still up and off again at 6.00. this morning bless him.Good job he's 19 and has lots of energy.Shows that not all youngsters are lazy and idle, he adores his job and I think he would work for nothing if he had to.
My casseroled lamb was smelling delicious in the SC this morning when I got up and I have portioned it up into four and topped it with creamy mashed potato. One for dinner tonight and three for the freezer.Right I had better get a move on Hope everyone has a good day

Afternoon everybody,
Feeling the need for a rest as I have been cleaning the inside of the car and the windows in preparation for MOT to-morrow...still can't find my registration certificate, rang them yesterday and they said to go anyway...may not be asked for cert....sod's law means that I will as I haven't got it IYKWIM!
Sunny to-day, OH is out clearing off the path round the house that he wrecked when he was power washing deck....should look a bit more civilised then, although Kerry has already dragged mud all over the deck.
Shepherds pie for dinner to-night, just need to do mash as filling was in freezer, pears and ice-cream for pudding, OH loves tinned fruit so need to get rid of some of the many tins he has bought lately in Lidl.
Safe journey home Donnygal.
Floss....loved your wedding stuff, wish I could wear sandals like that still....I know they are bad for your back but I NEED heels to feel dressed up, comes of being 5 ft 3 with a penchant for really tall men when I was young I suppose...no use crying over the past though.
Still knitting mad for the fair....was talking to ladies at knitting group yesterday who are more up to date on pricing than me, seems that the stuff I have already done might make €50 so would be very happy with that, school funding seems to be getting less and less here so all help is needed.
Hugs to all who are in need or want of one

Jackie,
My DS is 23 and is very hard working, he's the manager of a Lidl store and is very disillusioned by most of the British youngsters who apply for jobs, most of them seem to want to be paid for doing very little. He says that he'd much rather hire a Pole or an Asian person as they are prepared to work hard. It's very sad.0 -
Afternoon everyone.
First chance to sit down all day today. Took kids to soft play centre - had to go in 2 cars as I can't fit all the car seats AND my mum in my estate. Got to our destination where I discovered I'd left DD nappy bag and mindee's bag by my back gate  My poor mum had to drive all the way back home again with DD screeching in the car as she was leaving us. Honestly if I had a brain I'd be dangerous
Anyway got back, fed kids, taken to nursery, hung up a load of washing, more ironing put away, vacuumed and <phew> I need a lie down :rotfl:
Tea tonight will be creamy chicken and pepper cous cous
Lemon drizzle cake is calling me. I resisted all temptation at soft play centre when we had a coffee. I know it's just snacking habit that's making the cake call me. Need to start making more effort to lose weight. Lost some by accident last couple of weeks due to new mindee and being mega busy but I think that will only get me so far
Floss - Thanks for sharing the pics. Your shoes, dress and tiara are gorgeous
jackieglasgow - I would love to do the whole wedding day again and since I can't I have to live vicariously through other peoples weddings :rotfl:
hilstep - well done on your weight loss :T:T
Donnygal - take it easy on your journey x
moggins - good luck to your DD on her audition to Royal Academy and to your DS doing his GCSE's
Aussie - welcome back :j glad to see you had a nice time
lowesy - OUCH to nick on the elbow  Did it take long to stop bleeding?! Hope your IBS calms down soon xx
Apologies to anyone I've missed. Hugs to those that need them.
Have a good afternoon OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Hope everybody is well. Life has just got a little chaotic here as DH has gone away with work, he gets back late on Thursday night and I'm going away for the weekend on Friday afternoon. I'm going with my quilting group to Kielder, we stay in log cabins on the waterside. I'm now trying to get loads of preparation done ready to go.
I went to see about a new kitchen in the house we are buying this morning. I need to have more of a think about exactly what storage I need. I really want this to be right, and its much more fun to plan than all the rest of the work that needs doing!
Csaerina - I'm really jealous of your cabinet, I end up hand sewing as I have no where to leave my machine up
Off to pick the kids up and take them to the library!0 -
Lowsey & Julie67 The fish I use depends on what looks nice when I go to the fish market - coley, haddock, plaice, cod etc. Tonight it's pollack (sp?). I'm just cooking it now & it smells yummy
I use garlic powder, granules or salt in with the salt & pepper and flour. It just adds a nice flavour to the fish. It's a thing that my Mum used to make years ago when I was little and I've just re-discovered it after having a talk to her about all the evening meals she's made over the years! 0 -
Evening all
Dinner cooking so grabbed a few minutes on the computer
Had a really yucky day the weather being gloomy hasn't helped; I haven't been able to motivate myself much today.
It didn't help when DH phoned and said that the exhaust has gone on the car - that with all the other bills is now starting to worry me. I wish I could find that bloomin' money tree!
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Snoozer I hope all goes well with your op tomorrow:grouphug:
jackieglasgow I hope coco is a little better today x
hart44 did wonder where you had got to - computers can be such a pain sometimes xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I had lusted after one of these cabinets for years, at last they have produced one at a price I could (just) afford, so I went for it. It has a table at the back which comes out with a gate leg to extend the back for quilting a large quilt........I have had a little play, look forward to a longer play tomorrow.
Quilt group this afternoon, I took a quilt which needed tags taking out, quite a few nice comments about it, I picked up an old linen type curtain. I will have to take it to bits, but I should be able to make a curtain for the inner door with it, the fabric has a special name but I just cannot remember it...............it will fit in very well in our little cottage, I need to see if I can get a riser to fit the door. I feel an internet search coming pon. I know you used to be able to get them years ago, we had one on the front door of one of our houses many years ago (1974).
Sausage casserole for supper with cabbage, mash and cabbage, the last of the strawberries in jelly with some ice-cream and cream for dessert...yummy!!!!
Remembered the name of the fabric is crettone......I think thats how its spelt.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

I've read the thread but not taken it in so hugs to all!
Glorious day here, my work kids were full of beans and we had a day indoors with paperwork but I gave them lots of breaks to go outside. We work in a fab location at the mo in a small building literally inside some castle walls! The day just flew by!
I made pasta with HM spicy tomatoey sauce for tea. Enough pasta to have with salad for lunch tomorrow, and a portion of sauce for freezer.
I'm totally brain dead now so am just going to chill on sofa.
Have a good evening all

Evening all, jus popping in to say to Butterfly Brain and everyone else who's been so kind about my wee dog that she has perked up a bit tonight. We went out for a stroll for about an hour this afternoon and I was a bit worried as she didn't do any business. Went to Petsathome and took advantage of their money back guarantee and returned some of the kibble she didn't seem to like. Tried another brand, and got some raw minced chicken, and made some up for her when we came home with some warm water in to make a kind of sloppy dog food consistency, and she devoured it. I mean devoured. So, I think the poor dog has either really hated the food, or it's just a coincidence? Who knows but she's looking much happier, she's nearly wagged her tail off. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window
