It is getting worse she wants to complain to the uni and wants us to join in but we heard nothing! She is only going on her lodgers word as she herself was away. Our buyers have had their mortgaeg offer and a survey back today saying house tip top and we are worried this will delay HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Please take it easy!

The answer to this question is “NO - absolutely nothing to declare!”

Under no circumstances put anything down for this, or you can almost certainly kiss goodbye to your sale.

i do think there is an issue if you are aware that the other neighbour is in the process of making a formal complaint. if the buyers move in they are bound to speak to this neighbour and if they find out they had conversations with you about making a formal complaint then it will be clear you have lied about not knowing of any problems with the neighbours.

however, if there really are no problems beyond one or two noisy parties a year it is unlikely to come to anything. the only reason it would come to anything is if this student house genuinely could be an issue for anyone. only you can know that.

Well she is not in a position to directly complain as she wasn't there sat night but we were and her lodger is the one saying they were excessivley noisy. She was asking if we heard it and we honestly didn't.Some people wouldn't like a student house and one couple who liked it decided not to view a 2nd time because next door is a student let.The current buyers didn't ask about the neighbours I met them twice but the agent knew.It has been no prob to us at all apart from 2 parties which even then were ok for one offs.It was xmas and they are students!

So not a leg for her to stand on then!

I feel you’d actually be lying if you declared a problem.

    Chill!

I can't believe some are advising there could be an issue here - as not-loaded says just chill! There has clearly been no official complaint and I cannot believe anyone anywhere wouold think any buyers would have a hope of pursuing you for anything on this in the future!

Your solicitor obviously doesn't think there is anything as you have told him the facts and he would not proceed to act for you if he knew you were lying.

Ignore your soon to be ex neighbour and just confirm you have not been disturbed and have no wish to joing in any sort of action as it has not affected you

Has common sense left this world completely !

Thanks there really is no issue for us at all but the neighbour is intent on making something out of it We all knew when we bought in this street that it is a mix of lets students and private but it is a nice quiet area with good schools etc and v popular. We do have students next door and they are what you would expect Silly young guys who have the odd party and aren't there the bulk of the year!We moved ij sept 2008 and first party xmas week 2009!So 15 months silent 2 xmas parties one of which was rowdy and we told them to chill and they did.Now this week apparently a party which we had no idea even happened and we were in fri - mon virtually 24/7.i am getting fed up now as I so need to move(health issues)and tbh if they pursued me at my new address I am not well enough to take on something like this.I am downsizing to a flat fgs with neighbours above and below as I can't do stairs I wouldn't do that if I had had noise issues:eek:

No offence meant to you but obviously this is an issue for you, as your posts show. Your neighbour is completely irrelevant to this situation so just ignore them and concentrate on moving and improving your health and listen to the people you are opaying money to (your solicitors)

Best of luck with it all

Thank you sunshine you have all helped me today no end.I suppose my worry was if they move in and find the students a problem when we honestly don't.If I was fit well and able to I would never sell this house I love it and am upset I have got so hot under the collar.I am going with the solicitors advice and thats that.I have a teenage son and a drum kit in my house so not exactly quiet myself but no one has ever commented on this! Thanks again Hope I sleep tonight I had visions of my poor husband (who is only selling to help look after me by releasing a bit of £) in court totally bewildered but feel better about it all now xx BTW I meant the party wasn't an issue not the issue iygwim
