We have sold our house and have had further questions from the buyers re any disturbance from neighbours. They are students and we have been clear about this from day one with agents and buyers. They had one really noisy party in December amid all the snow and were a bit ott and my husband told them to shut up but apart from this they don;t bother us.Do we need to declare than we complained?

You don't have to do anything if you have sold. Do you actually mean the house is under offer? If so you need to clarify with your solicitor.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Anyone I have to fill out the forms and not sure if I have to list an isolated incident in a house which is quiet as a mouse 99% of the time Not even traffic noise!0

Did you make a formal complaint to any authorities? If you didnt I wouldnt worry too much, especially if its an isolated incident.Pawpurrs x

No we jst told them to shut up once.My husband went round and said enough But the neighbour on the other side has said she has had problems with them and asked if we agreed and we didn't but wondered if it could affect us if we don't declare it.It is not something you would formaly complain about as it is typical student house and we have always been honest about that0

If they've only ever disturbed you once, then to be honest it's nothing to worry about and I wouldn't have reported it. I think in every house I've ever lived in there has been one or two noisy nights where neighbours have had one off parties.
Your neighbour may have spoken to your buyers and they're getting twitchy.
If however you've not complained and the buyers move in and there is lots of unacceptable levels of your noise and your neighbours pop in and say "well we've been complaining for YEARS and we spoke to your seller about it and she just said 'we're moving we don't care'" or similar there might be a problem, but I believe it's difficult to prove.Tim0 -
We have been here 18 months and they have had 2 typical student parties one was when the snow was here and we told them to quieten down and that was it.But the neighbour on the other side has decided now that she wants to complain about them and we are worried that this will affect us now.If the new people move in and they are noisy can it come back to us?0

Hi Noddynoo - you may be better asking at the neighbours from hell forum www.nfh.org.uk which specialise in helping people as they've got people who give solid advice especially on noise issues.
An official complaint can be made easily, but evidence has to be collected over a relatively long period of time to substantiate it. I had to report the council tenant next door to me to the housing association. They then needed me to fill in diary sheets each time he caused a disturbance. I filled in one or two a night, roughly three/four times a week for about a month before we got any action taken and even then it was only a slap on the wrist.
Before a complaint is properly issued usually if it's in a flat you'll need several residents to complain. If she does complain she'll need evidence otherwise anyone we didn't like would be easy to get rid of.
If it truely doesn't disturb you apart from once or twice in 18 months I wouldn't worry.Tim0 -
btw after nine months of reporting he was put on a warning for 12 months that he may be made forcibly evicted if his behaviour carried on. Fortunately/unfortunately the main cause of the noise (his gf) passed away. Been dead quiet since if you'll pardon the pun.Tim0

This is absolutely nothing to worry about. The other neighbour will be laughed at if she ever decided to pursue that as a complaint. It has to be something really bad to progress a complaint and get something done. Rest easy and move on!…been here 18 months and they have had 2 typical student parties…0
