I contacted trading standards today who put me through to consumer direct. They have emailed me a template letter to send to dealer quoting the supply of goods and service act 1982 (amended). I explained everything to them and the fact that i have already had work done and the cost of the car is totally irrelevant as it was necessary they know everything i was on phone for over an hour to make sure i covered everything. The act states that they can either give me my original car back (they already sold it) or give me the price that was paid for the shogun, it cannot be repair it as the 3rd garage today has told me that he is shocked that the car passed last MOT the chassis is that bad. So hopefully the consumer wins....will let you know.

bear in mind an mot is only valid for the time of test and is not an indication of a roadworthy vehicle.
good luck i hope you and other people realise its worth spending £100 having an inspection done prior to purchase:)

Update...........its taken this longto get a response..
After loads of letters and such we recieved a letter from the dealer offering a full refund today (Wednesday), We arranged for someone from the garage to pick it up with trade plates as it has no MOT. Before the guy's car stopped the dealer was on the telephone telling us that there was paint stripper on the car (this was done months and months ago) they stated that they had a copy of the report and it did not state that there was anything about paint stripper, however there is....they wanted to offer £500 less, as they are using it as they have another shogun and they intend to make 1 good one out of 2 not good ones. I was telling my son about this who started training in body work repairs until his life took a different turn, and he told me that because the chassis is so bad that the actual shape of the body would be compromised so they could only use the engine(which is sweet).I feel that they are going to underseal it, slap a dodgy MOT on it and send it off to auction. That would be the only reason to have a body respray on a car that is in effect worthless.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Especially on who can i contact to make sure no poor soul gets into this death trap.
