ok best thing to do is get your garage to carry a vehicle inspection writing down everything that needs doing
take this to the car trader you brought it from and see what he says0 -
Buy a car at that age without a full MOT and it's your own fault really.
Wear and rear items do need fixed.

as it was purchased from a garage and not privately i would think the sales of goods act applies? They are acting as a retailer, i would take it back there , remind them of the sales of goods act and also threaten them with trading standards, if the brakes are/were faulty then the vehicle is not safe to be driven on the roads, also with an mot it is not so easy now its all computerised, i am selling a car ATM which has4 months MOT on it, i took it to a garage and claimed i had misplaced the mot in order to get a full one on it for the sale, they put the reg number into the computer and told me it had an mot already so i could not present it for retest but should get a copy of the current one!0

You claimed to have lost it they said it was MOT'd.
The 1 Month thing is if you want 13 months MOT on the car. If it's presented more than 1 Month early, it gets the standard 12 months.0 -

already took car back to dealer with list of faults, he photocopied the list thats when they offered the £100. I handed a letter into them this morning pointing out the sale of goods act and also that i was looking into going to trading standards, still waiting for a response. I think that they are hoping that i go away but taking car to trading sandards tomorrow. I even offered that their garage (who do all their work) look at car incase they thought we are trying to pull a fast one but they declined. CAB and tradng standards here we come.0

Good luck, however its wear and tear on a 14 year old vehicle(thnings likely to need replacing)also trading standards etc will take its age into account. You also had the car repaired elsewhere(original garage should have had the chance to fix it) and are lucky they have offered you anything. It still has a current MOT (which you bought it with) a lot of cars probably wont pass their next one. Am thinking of a new one:beer:0
