Sigh... Just as i expected, everything is blown out of proportion... It wasn't greasy to the extent that i would have easily slid off of the road, and i'm really not prepared to be penalised for my friends actions. I knew the conditions, and 60Mph was safe for the circumstances. Like i said previously, i doubt i would have even been able to stop if i was doing 40Mph.

So you doubt if you could have stopped at 40 but you still did 60 on a greasy road,
You knew the conditions yet you didnt act accordingly.!!!!!!. You need a lot more experience under your belt young man. I hope you learn from this.

The mind boggles and the arrogance of youth astounds me.

Leaving the incident aside. Doing the above risked you own life and those who you happened to have in the car with you. where is the sarcastic emoticon when i need it..................

Slow down, and you might live longer.

Claim on your insurance and move on
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Bloody hell... We are not talking a road with lard plastered over it, we are talking clear morning here, and i was saying i couldn't have stopped at 40 even in optimal conditions. Don't be an idiot and try and nit pick. You're telling me, you drive in a 30 at 15mph because of the possibility that a gust of wind might cause you to veer into a parked car? Or 60 on a motorway when it's drizzling? All of these conditions worse then then one i was in. The day was close to optimal for driving, maybe a tad too cold.

Maybe i should have warmed my tyres up before i left? Would that make it better. I'm fed up of this constant BS from people like you on this thread that serve no purpose but to make others lives difficult and nit pick at some completely small time factors, it's getting extremely tedious right now.

And thanks to all of those who have given support and don't feel the need to pick at everything that is said. You know... Maybe if i took some of the things out of my boot... I would have carried less momentum... Maybe enabling me to stop in time?

Again, thanks to the helpful posters, i wish you luck with your driving, and i hope that some people can learn one day to grow up and drop this stereotype that they hold.

There is no happy medium with this OP,

one post, pompous middls aged twaddle

next post - immature inexperinced teenage probationer driver who knows it all.

Another 20 years driving experience and it should all balance itself out.

The best drivers in the world are those that use a room for a vehicle, control it with a keyboard and the windscreen is a monitor. The less skilled have to make do with the infinitely more risky environment of the real world.

I love how you claim that i'm pompous when you clearly hold yourself in such a high regard that you fail to see how egotistical your comments really sound. What point did i claim to know it all? I know it all about the day of the accident... As i was there, i obviously don't know it all about a lot of other things... Hence this thread Einstein.

You just have to bring the teenage thing into it... So what, i'm 18? What's your deal? Have you got nothing better to do then pick on people that are younger then you? Are you jealous? I have youth? What is it? Really, because you obviously want to make this personal. How old are you?

Don't waste your time paintballa these people are angry at the world not at you,
don't let them drag you down to their sad angry world of bitterness.

Not much you can do when a greyhound nips in front, no different then a moped/motorbike from a side turning, be nice send the letters requesting payment then county court within 10-15days give every opportunity for them to pay but don't waste time it will count against you.
