    Congratulations! Your ring is gorgeous!

Been to see the wedding reception venue this afternoon and with a bit of decoration it will be a great little find :)

Got a lovely garden and patio with outside seating if the weather is nice enough for it :)

  • Humph, have had a pretty rubbish weekend and today doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Firstly, we were supposed to be going to a local music festival this weekend, but decided to give it a miss to save money, so had a quiet weekend in while all our friends were having fun.

My OH had a trial on Saturday for a new job, which didn't work out too well, didn't enjoy it much, its hard manual labour for not a lot of money and the shifts mean we wouldn't see each other much. He has to let them know by tomorrow what he's doing.

Got an e-mail from a gorgeous local hotel this morning, where we'd love to get married. We spoke to them at a wedding fair a few months back, but never followed it up as we thought it'd be too expensive, but out of curiosity I e-mailed them on Friday. The sample menus look great, everything within budget, lovely grounds etc. But they only can hold 42 people max, over that and you need to hire a marquee for the gardens at a min cost of £2500!!! We could prob manage to get numbers under 42 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, but that'd be it, no evening guests at all. Am so upset, it's just perfect otherwise.

Then to top it all, got a text from OH about 9.30am, they'd been sent home from work coz of the rain (he works as a landscaper), so they can take it as hols or not get paid - he has no hols to take, so he won't get paid. Even more p'd off now as the sun has just come out and the rain has stopped. (I know, imagine being p'd off at the rain stopping and having sunshine!)

Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent!xx

aw b2b you are having one of them weeks arent you?
i cant remember how many venues i had to turn from because they were too small but perfect, i didnt want to compromise with numbers because i want everyone(apart from a couple of family which i have to have lol)on my guest list there
would you consider having the reception there then then going somewhere else later for the evening do?
sorry about your h2b's job situations too, that is sods law about the landscaping
is the hard labour one better paid? can he do it for a bit(he might get used to the hard work once his muscles have)but keep looking for a better paid job?would it still be dependant on the weather?
