joho - once you've chosen the dress, the other bits won't seem as important. After all, your guests are more ilkely to remember what you are wearing than the other details. Honestly, I can't remember what the centrepieces were at the last two weddings I went to. And the most recent one, I can only remember the bridesmaids' dress because I was wearing one!
I know there are some people who worry about getting the precise shade of a colour on everything so that everything matches perfectly, but your guests won't notice. And do you know what? If my guests don't like the fact that the teal on my dress doesn't match the teal of the sash on the chair covers, I DON'T CARE!!!!!
No offence intended to those who do want to colour match...Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
^^ I totally agree, while it's nice to try to have a "theme" I'm not going to stress about matching every scrap of material.
I might even have different colour BM dresses.
I'd rather not let myself get too bogged down with details, and give myself more freedom.0 -
Thank you ladies! You've made me smile! In fact I almost feel like blubbing!
I think half the problem about making a decision on this dress was that if I bought it, it meant I was actually getting married. Whereas as long as nothing was bought or paid for nothing was definite. Not because I don't want to marry my man - just am terrified at the thought of it actually happening. Oh - deeeeeep.
Dress number 17048 9 18 (4th in top row) is very, very similar but 'mine' doesn't have beading on the straps, doesn't have the silly wafty bit at the neck and does have a train!
I (should say 'we' shouldn't I) haven't got a theme; not even got an idea of colour for the BMs. Probably purple, but I want them to have dresses they can wear again. Don't mind what OH wears as long as he is cool, comfortable and a little bit smart. Think my mums outfit is likely to be the most stressful!!
Well I've got a long time to plan everything else so I am not going to stress yet. Next step must be hiring the wedding organiser and finalising our date.:DIf you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -

or are they not wedding dressy enough?I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
First one is very nice, bubbles, but I quite like the idea of having a little train. And I want straps. I don't dislike strapless dresses but I don't think they suit me and I want something different. Every shop i've been in there's hardly any with straps! If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0

have a look around for 'dessy' or 'elements/amanda wakeley dresses', theyr quite floaty and beachy!
the amanda wakely can sometimes be VERY expensive but there are some cheaper ones same for dessyI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Also have a look at the new BHS collection online, they've got a few floaty ones0

He he! Well my mum went in to put a deposit on this one for me and she texted me to say its a Ben Roberts. I presume she means Benjamin Roberts - but I still cna't find a picture of it! I've scoured the internet already!!!If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0

ok so its one shoulder white with a train yeah?I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0

Its got 2 straps. ivory. sweetheart neckline, quite a low back with zip fastening behind a few buttons, the front is lightly pleated, pleated bust, embroidery under the bust and following the edge of the bodice around the back, a small train and it is a chiffon/tulle (I don't know the difference!) type material over the main body of the dress with it being quite straight rather than A-line or billowy.
They wouldn't let me take a pic when I tried it on which is fair enough. But at £100 a trip I can't afford to pop back up to get a photo!!
ETA: I think its an old season one, but I've scoured the internet and can't find it!! Gah.
EATA: it's not unlike his Tia one, but hasn't got embroidery on the straps. If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0
