I am suprised you haven't returned the poo to them before now. How very restrained of you !! I'm afraid I'd have slung it back over the fence and if it continued leave it in a nice pile outside their doorstep as the other posters have suggested. Good luck !!0

So many responses - thank you to everyone.
So far the council have promised to get a dog warden to contact me to discuss the issue.
The police have said it's pretty much nothing to do with them as the owner isn't being threatening but due to the dispute going on so long and no resolve, they have promised to send over an officer to the owner's house to have a private word. The police also said we should consult a solicitor as we could try and get the guy to pay towards the fence.
I like the waterpest items but am trying not to spend any more money on it. The bleach idea is a good one though - if I sprinkle it along the fence it should stop it for a while. And we have some at home already.
As for the throwing the poop back, my mum has banned me from it so far, but think it has gone too far now.
I do know it's not really the dog's fault - if the owner actually looked after them then they wouldn't be left to roam around so I don't want to hurt them in anyway.[STRIKE]Halifax =£35

Contact your local council and ask to speak to an Environmental Health Officer. Make it clear you believe a Statutory Nuisance is occurring and you would like them to investigate and take action. Do not clear up the mess, they will need to see it in all its glory. If the EHO disagrees that a stat nuisance is occurring you can take your own stat nuisance action at the magistrates court.0

seems obvious to me. you construct a fence and prickly hedging that holds the dogs back. it obviously bothers you a great deal so spend some money on this instead of a packet of fags a day.
I would not hesitate in throwing it back, hopefully as neighbour is in his garden, better that than me posting it through his letterbox for him.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

if the fence is busted and money is tight , why not get a piece of plywood and jam in there for now ..or anything to block it off
id have to sling it back over the fence myself...or a jiffy bag with no stamp on it posted to him0 -
I'd tell the neighbour you've got some rats (or similar), and there's been poison put down to kill them and you "don't want his dog to get ill". If the dog keeps coming in your garden, put a few pellets of rat poison in a sausage, and leave it for the dog to find.
That'll stop it coming in your garden (or stop it leaving depending how quickly it acts).Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

That's a bit harsh - it's down to the owner to stop his dogs going across, so why should they potentially get poisoned and suffer due to his irresponsible actions?
I can't stand kids, hate it when they come into my garden to get their ball back (often without asking, grr!) but there's no way on earth I'd consider poisoning them!!!0 -
