    Dogs don't like bleach.
Pour some on HIS side of the fence and they may refuse to cross over. Plus plenty of gooseberry bushes on your side.

I'll bet you have a fox (or two)..

We have a cat who does it straight on the lawn...and at the moment this is causing us a lot of embarrasment if he goes next door! :o

The council will have a dog warden try and speak to him or her directly not just someone in the call centre. Keep a journal and photographs to show of the dogs mess. People can get large fines and even have their dogs taken away because of this, they can even DNA test the poop to prove it's his!

I think the electronic pet repellers do work because the house on the end got one as my cat used a certain bush of theirs as his bathroom every day! The bush was 2 foot smaller than all the others because of it but now it is growing and I haven't seen him go on there again. The neighbours have never complained to me but I did feel a bit guilty even though cats are a law unto themselves!

If I remember correctly you are allowed to film your own premises. So a CCTV filming YOUR garden should be enough to prove they are coming into the garden.

I had this problem with one of my neighbours in a rental property next door. Having talked to him on a number of occasions to no avail (and no help from the local council) I picked up the said litter with a shovel one day and knocked on his door - when he opened it I chucked it all inside his house. Problem solved.

I am not saying anyone should resort to this but the lack of help from relevant authorities shows that often the innocent party is forced to cross the line to get anything done.

I don't get it, you get a fine and possible court date if your dog fouls the local park - one of the main reasons for the enforcement of this is the health and safety aspect with children playing in the park. Does this not apply when its the neighbours' dog doing it on private property??

:) Have a look in your local tack shop at electric fencing for paddocks and then try check ebay for a pre-used one :) - most run off a car battery and dole out an unpleasant but non-lethal jolt.

Dogs aren't stupid and after one shock, its unlikely they will risk other one. Our own dog accidently touched an electric paddock fence last year and now won't venture within 100 yards of it even when its switched off... and she isn't the sharpest knife in the box :)

Its not the dogs fault but they need to be re-educated to poop in their own patch!

It's what I would do as well

To be honest we did do this when we had a similer problem albeit on a smaller scale. (The problem sooned stopped)!

Personally I'd get a shovel and sling it over the fence into his garden (at night of course)

    See how he likes it!!

Sorry I can't suggest anything more appropriate!

We have this problem, but it's the next door neighbour's cats (all 5 of them) and every single one has taken a liking to having a dump on our lawn, and there's not an awful lot we can do ... hopefully the situation will improve once we're able to start mowing the lawn again (been too wet and cold).

I had the exact same problem and bought a sonic cat deterrant from B&Q. It was £20 and has solved the problem completely! The local cats were using my garden as their toilet, apparently because i don't have a cat, and its open territory. They weren't even burying it, it was in piles on the lawn.

The gadget is mounted on a stake at the side of the lawn, and is motion activated. I'm a real cat lover so didn't want to harm them, just discourage them and it works perfectly. I would thoroughly recommend it.

I've seen a cat do this in my garden. It was squatting on the lawn, staring me in the eye while doing its business!

seems obvious to me. you construct a fence and prickly hedging that holds the dogs back. it obviously bothers you a great deal so spend some money on this instead of a packet of fags a day.
