Hi everyone, well it's been quite a day! This morning I woke up having fallen to the floor and hit my head - it was quite a knock and I felt really horrible. I didn't want to tell anyone as I had fractured my skull mid February and I'm sure the doctor would have sent me into hospital. Then the phone rang and it was my solicitor - to cut the story short I have a completion date and am moving this Friday!! Arghh!
I have been trying to sort things out with phonecalls etc as you do - it is very short notice but thank goodness most is packed ready.
I've contacted BT to connect the line to the new place and will be activated on Monday, and sorted broadband which will be connected around the 21st.
Got a list for tomorrow ... who I need to contact etc. I really don't feel like doing anything as I'm feeling exhausted. Oh well, it might sink in that I am moving eventually - it will be very strange as I have lived here over 14 years.
Thank you for all your comments and advice, it is very much appreciated.:)0 -
Glad to hear that you should be on your way soon, but worried to hear that you have hurt yourself and not sought medical attention...make sure you take it easy, get everyone else to help you and SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Hi there Jojo, Sue and everyone, yes I'm back and sorry for not letting you know sooner how the move went.
10th June was completion day as you know. My brother brought his lorry and my nephew came with him, my sister and her husband came and they emptied the house and got everything onto the lorry! My brother took off to take everyting 100 miles down the road back home while my sister stayed with me to clean the house before the completion came through.
By the time I had travelled back home my brother, nephew and other members of the family had already got the key to the bungalow and had emptied the lorry and moved everything into the the place!
I stayed with my parents for a few days until everything was sorted at the new place, the phone line took a couple of days to be connected, and everyone helped with emptying boxes and putting things in place. Everything went very smoothly and not a thing broken!
It took about 8 weeks to get things sorted with the DWP! The outpatient clinics have still not been sorted, but I have seen two consultants about my wrist and they have referred me to another specialist! I wrote letters to the clinics to let them know I was moving and asked if they would refer me to someone in this area but still waiting to hear.
It is strange being back where I grew up and to be near all the family, but really nice. I have people calling to see me now which is a big difference!0 -
Great news Tobruk, hope you'll soon feel really 'settled' and 'at home' back home, IYSWIM. And that you get good consultants lined up ASAP.Signature removed for peace of mind0

How wonderful! We can rest a little easier, knowing you have lots of people there for you whenever you need them

And NO MORE hurting yourself and refusing to see a doctor! Understood?
