Mojisola, you are right, I do need a while to get some much needed rest in, however, although I don't mind the delay at the moment I just hope that the buyer of my house doesn't get fed up of waiting!

The buyer has already sold her property and is staying with her daughter until she can move in here. I shall just have to play it by ear!

Yes. I was looking around the house today and I am pretty much there! Many boxes have already been taken and are stored at my parents' house - their front room is almost bursting!!

I'm not bothered about opening boxes once I move, and I will also have plenty of help. All the boxes have been carefully labelled (listing what's in them) and are marked to which room they are to go on the day of the move. Some are also marked with a number 1 stating that they are ones that I will need fairly quickly. I'm not sure whether there is a better system, but it's too late now!;)

On Wednesday I will see the consultant about my wrist as it isn't healing, he will decide on Wednesday whether he needs to operate on it! If I need an operation and he could do it immediately I think I would let him go ahead, rather than being referred to a hospital when I've moved as that would just mean I may have to wait quite a while to be seen! We shall see ...

Have you got anyone you could move in with if she does get fed up waiting?

There is always that option: sell the current house, furniture into store, move in with parents. Especially if you need surgery ...

Thank you both, yes, if it comes to it rather than lose my buyer I will be able to stay with my parents no problem.

It would be a nuisance in that the family would have to move my furniture etc twice, and would have to sort out where we would store everything.

Not only that but changing address with everyone, insurances, utilities, DWP etc would be extra work! However, if it comes to it we (well my family - as I am pretty useless!) will sort something out, my family will help as much as they can, to which I am so so thankfull for.

    Hi everyone,

Well firstly I saw the consultant about my wrist which the news wasn't good! The wrist hasn't healed in the position it is, however, he went to speak to his colleage about surgery but came back and said that surgery was impossible!! I was so shocked and sort of asked why and he just said it was too complicated! I didn't get an explanation!!

He sent me to the plaster room for a 'removable plaster' and then to see a 'pain nurse'. It seems I have to live with a broken wrist and have been given morphine based patches! My GP is furious, she said that I have been left in limbo and shouldn't have to wear a plaster for the rest of my life! I was, and still am devastated, not only that, I am still in a lot of pain despite these patches (which I am not happy about long term!) but have to wait until I move to get a referral to an orthopaedics clinic!

I am still waiting for completion but hoping to hear something next week - it is dragging on now!

On the positive side of things (trying my best to look at the positive at the moment) I am all packed apart from the things I am using. I haven't many boxes here now - most have been taken home to my parents' house ... their front room and porch is overflowing!

The carpet man has had access to the bungalow (the seller was very helpful and agreed to arrange for the carpet chap to access the bungalow) to measure the bedroom (as there is only underlay there) and I have chosen a carpet. He phoned me last night and said that he will order the carpet once I know when I am moving and he will fit it on the morning of the move. He has been extremely helpful. He told me that the underlay which is there is in excellent condition and is a quality one, he said I will save money there.

I am now just waiting and trying to cope! I saw my GP yesterday and she assured me that she will hurry things along and do as much as she can. She has said that when I register with the GP (back home) to tell him that he can phone her anytime and she will fill him in. I suppose it helps that she knows the GP as she was in med school with him!

  • Hey, I am sorry for your condition. If are planning to sell your house why don't you search in the internet and look for websites that help you to sell the house quickly. And these companies are trust worthy and some do not take commission.

What an absolute load of tosh.

You obviously run or work for one.

Look at the house buying board to see this raised very regularly and the comments aren't great to say the least - beware.

You have obviously missed a few posts as in post 12 you'll see that I have now sold the house and awaiting a completion date.

I hope to hear something in the next few days as it seems that it is going on forever!! The buyers' solicitor is dragging their feet ... two weeks ago I received a letter from them making enquiries, there were 5 questions which were really strange. Anyway on Friday my solicitor had received more questions but they were questions I would never be able to answer - nothing about the property really and one was about the M4 (which is a few miles away) not really relevant to this house. One question was something about 1973 in the area - I didn't come here until 1997!

Oh well, I just have to wait!
