They have just phoned....I just don't get it. They wanted to know whether he could def start next monday and he said to them that he was still waiting to see if my sister could sort out some accomodation for him and wouldn't be able to let them know until Thursday. Apparently the chap said he has some other people to see still but will let him know. Now I can't imagine that there are many people out there that could start a job within 1 week. If I were that chap I would have been thinking, well he's obviously not that keen otherwise he would be going out of his way to start next monday regardless.

!!!!!! just totally fed up with it all

    Travel lodge!!!!

Of course he can start next monday... I'll pay his bleeding hotel myself if I have to :D

Sal - if I was you I think words such as "f**king phone them back now and tell them you can start on Monday" would be leaving my mouth...

You'll have a lovely week with Nathan Luc. Just think - full contol of the remote!
Don't eliminate all forms of leisure though - we all need a little relaxation.

Hi Bookie. To be honest when Hubbles is away the TV is only switched on for Cbeeies while I make Nathan's dinner. I just don't watch TV at all!

I have some crafting projects planned for each evening once Nathan is sleeping - thank you cards, a mothers day card and some sketching/painting. Once I've caught up with the washing (there's a third load now airing and a 4th ready to go at bedtime as I've tun out of hanging spaceand sorted our room I'm back on top of things and will only have to do a little each day to keep it that way:A

Aww thanks, the best bit of the job is the relationship you build with the women. I love chatting with them, helping them to feel a bit calmer when they panic a bit. Sometimes being the student is better because I have a little bit more time to chat and that really makes a difference.

The other day we had one woman in who had a history of psych problems, she'd been in for a couple of days being induced. She wouldn't speak to anyone, she was clearly stressed but no one could get through to her. They even called the consultant psych down to see her.

I went into her room, chatted for a bit about all sorts of nonsense, and generally just passed the time of day. I got the CTG machine ready and saw her face drop, so, I knelt down next to her and said 'what's up Jackie? you look worried' And she just crumbled, burst into tears and it all spilled out about how scared she was of being induced and how it is one step away from a C section. Sometimes just having that bit extra time to be kind to someone can make all the difference :) The poor thing did end up with a section in the end but she did great and went home happy with a lovely little man.
