Sammy - RATs - is a new thing - Reasoning and Thinking skills.....they suddenly reaslied that most kids can programme an Ipod and work facebook but can't hold a conversation or sort logic and the like.....so this teaches them what information to extract from a news article, how to turn a discussion into a debate, how to basically "think" beyond the box and how to converse with adults.
A great idea - just a shame it's had to come to that....I'm sure we never needed lessons on that sort of stuff when we were all that age but I guess it's a sign of the times with modern technological advances.
And as for DD's GCSE's - she's doing 3 Science ones and the first stage in RE this year...talk about easing them in gently.....this weeks RE topic for a 1000 word essay....Are religious experiences genuine? She got a A* for her "rant"
Elfen.....I've managed to get some anti-biotics ordered for DH - will pick them up first thing whilst he's got physio.....he can hardly bend his fingers so I hope they kick in quick."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Why not discuss with him whether he would prefer cash or specific 'prizes' according to levels of success (and in line with your budget)? Its very easy to waste cash whereas giving him something specific he wants/needs means he can't do that...26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Could offer him a certain amount per grade? Say if he gets an A/equivalent you'll give him something, but if he gets all top grades you'll give him a bonus?

Although DD1 is now showing some interest in furthering her education....
I think she has realised now that she has a dependant how important it is to be educated. I also have to agree that kids today don't seem to know much about 'real life'
SRM....I would love to read more about Mallory...I love stuff like that..Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
