How you all doing with beauty prep?

I am doing my own hair (incl clip on extensions), make up (incl DIY false lashes) and nails, but before I travel want to have been waxed, had pedicure, have a base tan (St Tropez myself).

Think I'd better start making some diary entries....xxx

I'm very lucky in that my sister is a hairdresser and has offered to do my hair (although I have to be firm with her because she has her own idea on what my hair should look like ;)). I also have a good friend who does wedding make up and so she is going to do mine as her present to us :)

My sister's best friend is a beautitian and has offered to do any pre-wedding treatments I would like. I'm not going to have a fake tan because I'm naturally quite pale and a tan looks weird on me. I'm going to have her do my nails (not sure if false ones yet or just my own). Also she's offered to do me a massage the night before to destress :)

My biggest beauty worry is my skin. I suffer from hormonal acne every month and while my wedding falls in a week when my skin should be ok I'm still prone to the occassional breakout. I really need to sort out a good skin care regime. I do cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day just not sure the products I use are any good -I heard that clinique do a really good range for problem skin but I just can't afford it this close to the wedding! :(
What are you girls doing? Any suggestions?
I wish I still lived in my hometown then I could go to my sister's friend each week and get a facial.

    xx

    Hi emsbet

Not sure I can help with the skincare. I use Johnson's wipes morning and night, Olay night cream, Aldi Lacura day serum and Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream for any breakouts/dry patches (i swear by it!).

Maybe have a look in Aldi as I know they've expanded their Lacura rnage - perhaps you could get a few bits and try DIY facial weekly?

    Good luck xx

I have similar issues and its worrying me a bit as well :(
I think with me half the problem is being too lazy/busy to be bothered though - at the end of the day a quick face wipe before falling in to bed is usually all I get round to, and know I should make the effort to spend the extra time for the next few weeks even if I don't stick with it after the wedding. Sorry, I don't really have any tips or cheap wonder products to suggest!

Need to make sure I drink enough water and get enough sleep as well - I think this could help even more than a good cleanse/tone/moisturise routine!

Thanks for the tips guys. TBH I don't think there's much that can be done to prevent hormonal breakouts - I'll just have to hope I find something that clears them up quickly and also that I don't get many in March.

    Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the late arrival, I have just found this thread...
I am to be married 5th March - thats 7 weeks on Saturday.....SCARY
Just been for my dress fitting/alteration - should get that back early feb, she is also making me a shrug in the same material as dress.
    Invitations sent last week.
    Suits ordered
Bridesmaids sorted - my colours are navy and white
Table decorations sorted - I am having small fish bowls with small packets of love hearts, we have bought personalised wrappers from ebay to glue over the original labels, they look fab
    Make up sorted.
Hair - this is my only worry - I am struggling to find a hairdresser! think im gonna have to go out and spend lots of money trying different people!!
Any way thats enough from me for now, what colour scheme, table decorations has everyone else gone for?
