Just read about it and it says the particular model i have comes with DVFX technology combines with upsampling to 1080pvia hdmi1.3 to create a picture that's both rich in detail and colour realism.
Now I'm in two minds0 -

That is mainly hype, but even upsampled on a 32" TV, you are unlikely to see any difference.0 -
I disagree with Inactive - buy a cheap 1.3 compatible HDMI cable from eBay for your DVD player - upscaling may or may not make it a bit better, depending on the quality of the upscaler in the player, but carrying the picture over HDMI instead of SCART is likely to make a noticeable improvement.0

Hi,
Just to follow things up a little further, I've just read on AV Forums that Aldi are offering two 2 metre length HDMI cables for £5.99 on 11th March offers:

Hi, I've tried both SCART and HDMI leads to connect "upscaling" DVD player to 32" HD TV and compared with SCART connected DVD/HDD recorder. Viewing from 10ft + I really can't see any significant differences at all when playing back DVDs.
My son in law claims he CAN see a difference - but only on games consoles when he's sitting about 4 ft from the screen!!0 -
If the units have HDMI then use the facility, why wouldn't you? dont go spending £30 though, the margin on cables in store is massive.
The old adage was to spend 10% of your AV bill on cabling but I would suggest this is less important when it comes to digital cables.
Edit: when it comes to up scaling, my PS3 is excellent compared to the old dvd player, not slightly better, just plain excellent picture quality. The facility is there and its what you paid for, hook up and enjoy.0
