    Hi All,

I have 2 credit cards and 1 overdraft.

As you can see from my signature, the 1st target (Virgin CC) is nearly clear. I intend to clear this when I next get paid. Now, I know that Virgin are likely to offer a 0% deal, but just wondered if it was worth asking about now?

Also, the other card is with Halifax, so they are both MBNA and I've seen on the Virgin site, that they won't do transfers between 2 MBNA cards. So....is it possible to do a balance transfer for my overdraft? It's not as expensive as the CC, but at least it would be cleared and I wouldn't be fearing them closing the account.

Any ideas? (I posted on the CC forum, but no response as yet).

    Cheers!

I have absolutly no idea to be honest - really should know these things, been coming on the site for long enough :o

But it surely cant hurt to ask? The worst they can say is no!

  • Is there enough room for the overdraft and the card? If so, could you transfer the overdraft to 0% virgin, then pay the other MBNA taking you into your overdraft, then transfer the overdraft again...?

Not sure if the above is even possible, but if it is, you'll have all debt in one place, at 0%. See link below also, which covers super balance transfers.

Good luck on giving up smoking Thrifty!

Euro, I would say getting any debt on 0% is worth doing if you can but I like the idea of transferring your overdraft and then using that again to pay off the other CC.

Anyway, I've decided to start a small savings account too, just to have an emergency fund as I don't have anything at the moment, so I will try and PAD something to that too. Today I have paid 50p to CC1, 50p to CC2, 50p to savings and 11p to coke bottle, so a total of £1.61 please

Yes, that's right - Day One of stopping smoking has finally arrived and I'm chewing gum like a cow on amphetamine :rotfl:So far so good though. I haven't killed anyone yet, although my fiance feels like he's high from using e-cigs on top of a patch :rotfl:

Good luck for the quitting. I quit 18 months ago and really don't miss it. I think it was a lot of debt-money too, as where I found the extra £35 per week to burn I don't know!

After Day 1 (MADNESS) of chewing gum constantly I had massive muscles in my jaw and it was so sore I couldn't eat properly for two days.

Best decision you will make :T
