It depends on your level of stupidity.
If you're not stupid and you don't mind a search of your credit record, you take the card for the on-the-spot discount, clear it in full and close the card.
If you're only mildly stupid then you consider the card a very convenient way to spend money in that one store - unlike those other generic cards you can use anywhere
If you're very stupid then you think you've got a discount card that they only give to privileged customers, you're flattered by the ££££ limit they give you and consider this to be their assessment of how financially strong you are because they think you're worth it.
