Poster, you need to explain that its always had that fault to your dealer and see if they listen. If you bought it from them remind them of that and if they want to keep you as a customer they should help.0 -

£100 to fix a slack parking brake cable? I'm unfamiliar with Polos but how does it cost £100 to wind the adjuster on two wheels?
I'd go elsewhere. It's 20 minutes work at the most.0 -

By and large the Polo cables don't stretch, they are pretty good. You might have to tweak it up a bit after 5 or 6 years, but nothing more.
If the car was like this from new then I suspect it wasn't adjusted up properly at delivery (handbrake cable adjust is part of PDI).0
