3 mobile broadband 18 month £5 contract ending
Comments

Well i joined on an 18 month contract for £7.50/month for 3GB (paperwork defiantly says 18 months) back in June 2008 and i am still paying the same amount even though the minimum term is now over.
Sometimes it might be worth taking what 3 customer services with a pince of salt when they that the price will revert back to "full amount," as their sales teams will be wanting to get an extra sale or twos worth of commission.
Nowhere on the paperwork does it mention that the prices will revert/introductory discount, and most isps/mobile operators just allow you to carry on on the same tariff with the same usage limits and costs.0 -
Thanks Creosote, I did think exactly the same thing myself.0

I'd based my thoughts on what a salesman in Carphone Warehouse told me a couple of months ago.
Went into a Three store yesterday and asked the guy to look up my account etc. and he confirmed that I am 2 months past my 18 month contract, that the (half) price would stay the same, that their new dongle is just as good as mine so no actual need to upgrade (which would increase price to £25/month for 15GB), oh and by the way did he want me to remove paper billing to save an extra £1! Thought I'd done this but have had a lot else on my mind recently... :T0 -
Thanks for the information, that is what I was trying to check but 3 seem to give conflicting answers.
Incidentally the new modem supplied is an E122 which has double the potential speed of my old E160 if only the network could support it! Apparently, this modem has a twin mode, which means although you've got a connection it's constantly on the lookout for another one so might work better on train journeys. It has also been suggested it can connect in low signal areas but I haven't noticed any difference so far. Unfortunately it isn't any more compact than the E160.0 -
if anybody is after the 15gb plan it's available on the tesco website for £15 on a 24 month contract or £20 on an 18 month contract.

Interesting, I wonder if i could use this to negotiate a better contract to get more bandwidth as a "loyal" customer
, be it in store with a print out from tesco or phoning them (though i doubt they'll be able to match it over the phone...). 0 -
I just noticed this older thread:-
Three Mobile Broadband Retention
if you would be happy with a 24month contract you should be able to blag 15gb a month for £100
