Some Vue cinemas have the aisle running across the middle of the cinema (the one at bolton does). You are sat far enough back that you dont have to look up and have about 10 feet of leg room. As someone with knee issues these seats are wonderful. Also the bigger vues have a premium seating system. They are a couple of quid more but you get leg room and really comfy leather seat.

That sounds great, but my local cinema is sadly an Odeon. It's kind of crap, and very cold as well, which doesn't help.

If I'm ever near a Vue, I will stop by. Thanks for the tip!

Jeeeeez this thread has dragged, saving me reading through all the posts whats the verdict?

One side saying disabled people should stop whinging, they aren't owed anything, they should sit with everyone else even if that causes them problems, not use transport, or have a life.

Then another section saying the seats are for wheelchair users only, and any other disabled person trying to use them are selfish and wrong.

Then a further section trying to explain how the seats would help them, and they would like to have a life, which would be possible with reasonable adjustments.

Back to the other side saying they are just playing the disabled card and should shut up, along with accusations of the OP being racist, over the top behaviour, and the OP getting very upset about being nitpicked over every little thing she said.

Um, think that's about it. So another "fun" thread in the Disability and Dosh section, which as usual turns nasty.

Yep that sums it up perfectly.

Add some clutching at straws and lots of assumptions, judgements and acusations.

Yeah nothing out of the ordinary really, I'm sure it's probably pleased some.

    .

That is absolute garbage what you have written.

Nobody cares that the OP is disabled, move on from that. The point is the way the OP is saying the world owes her BECAUSE she is disabled (just look at her signature and the way in which she speaks/treats people)

There are many, many disabled people in the world who get on with their lives and don't stamp their feet like a little child when things don't go their way.

The way the OP's problem should have been dealt with from the start, is the way ANY person, disabled or otherwise, should have dealt with it. That is, complain at the scene, if that doesn't resolve it, speak to the manager, if that doesn't resolve it, contact head office, if that doesn't resolve it, vote with your feet and shop/view elsewhere.

not everyone can just walk up to the manager and complain! - i would expect the manager to come to you and take you aside or show you to a private room to discuss your concerns

right so im supposed to travel to the next nearerst cinema and have to pay £10 each way in taxi fares am i? get real! - Yes, i am. If you aren't getting the satisfaction from the venue, then go elsewhere.

I am not talking to you in any other way i would talk to anyone else. Stamping your feet will not gain respect or the will for people to go out of their way to help you.

Being cool, calm, collected, courteous and polite will.

there's no getting through to you is there? I started out sympathising with your situation (not the disability, but the cinema incident). Not now though, i pity the poor guy/girl who had to deal with you that night.
