If yes, can national speed limits be enforced?
I don't know, do you????0 -
Those protests were about the purchase of land required to construct it.0

I use the M42/M5 (via M40) more to avoid the M6 as much as possible but still get caught up between j8 and j11 That can be a nightmare. Im sure its worse with the road widening but thankfully been sent west not north recently. The Toll is good so do use it but as another poster said only because I can claim it back. Distance is longer but the time saved is great. Although Im sure Im going to get caught for speeding. Everyone goes so quick I dont realise it and Im over 90:j0

So out of simple interest, do you see motorway patrolcars or speed cameras?;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Seen a few cars being stopped by plain cars. Trick is not to be the quickest on the road!!:j0

I'm impressed, do give us the secret to being so active and able to drive so well at 90, most at that age have hung their driving gloves up long ago...;)
sorry i just had to..:D0 -
I was there this morning & saw an un-marked ploddie car parked on a refuge taking careful aim with his Lti (or whatever) laser!
Coudn't see him until I was almost level.
Hardly any traffic & sunny, dry weather... makes a bit of a mockery of the whole speed limit issue but easy pickings!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
I am a constant Toll road user with a company paid tag so being selfish the more expensive it gets the less people on it, better for me! but thats not what it was built for so agree not fair.
Firstly, never speed on it, some days there are 4 or 5 police, marked and unmarked. dark & silver BMW5 and grey Volvo S60 are the regulars. They like it because so many speeders but its quiet enough to pull people safely, plenty of junctions to loop back on and some bridges with a clear view for speed gunning. Typically they work near the main toll booth, two police on foot gun cars from the crossing bridge and the policecars are waiting further down for instruction.
I set my cruise control so my sat nav shows 77mph (about 81mph on my speedo) and have been zapped countless times without being bothered.
Remember its a short road, funny thing is I get passed by endless people doing risky high speed, by the time we do the toll booths I sail through without stopping using my tag, they queue and pay etc, we are even again! so they gained nothing except possibly 3 points.
Anyone can take out a tag personally, it costs a £1 a month to 'rent' it and you can top it up automatically from a credit card. you get a discount per use of around 25p (for a car) so after 2 return trips its paid for itself after that your saving money.
Even though at many times of the day its deserted, my pet HATE is people that still insist on cruising in the middle lane, I come up behind them in the inside lane and have to go lanes 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 2, 2 to 1 just to go around them, going into lane 3 at normal speed is risky as your likely to get a Range Rover sport doing 110mph in your backend, all just because some lazy muppet thinks his £5 entitles him to drive in any lane he fancies.0
