Ambulance chasing companies make a big thing about how they are all about making sure things are fair and to make the negligent person take action to prevent further accidents. However you try getting them to do anything if there is no insurance company involved eg claiming against a neighboor who has no insurance and no assets. They will not get involved as their main concern (Being a business) is making sure they get their juicy fees.

I'm in the middle of suing my employer due to an accident at work when I slipped on some oil that had been spilt and not cleaned up. The only reason that I am suing them is they didn't pay me during my absence, broken ankle. If they had paid me some sort of sick pay whilst I was off I would have left it at that. I have since had to get the union solicitor involved and the employer admitted liability straight away and the solicitor is now pressing for full payment of wages, damages, costs etc etc. If some places took more care of their employees when things happened at work it would work out cheaper.

They cut cleaning staff over and over again and then wonder why there are more accidents.

Did you not think of cleaning it up yourself BEFORE you or anyone else might slip on it?

ooh - me as well, Why on EARTH would you go up a ladder like that in those circumstances... - and that stupid woman who slips on the wet floor - despite her walking straight towards a puddle.....

though I do let off the lady who is carrying the box and trips on that wrapping stuff - but even so, 90% of the things that happen used to be called accidents.....

Yes....I was walking across a wet floor and seriously injured my fringe. lmao

If I had seen it I would have got someone to clean it up, but I didn't.

We used to have a number of cleaners working the whole time the store was open but they have now cut it back to one between 10-3 and one 3-7 which means they have a huge area to cover. Whereas before they were proactive in finds spillages and cleaning them they are now reactive and only clean things that others report.

BTW it is a very large supermarket so a lot of possible spills, breakages and a lot of people.

Who would you sue if you cut yourself shaving? Whose fault is it except your own? Next there will be warning on razor blades that they may cut things.
