Who would you sue if you cut yourself shaving? Whose fault is it except your own? Next there will be warning on razor blades that they may cut things.

He sued Gillete (or wilkinson sword or whoever) the razor was in REALLY bad condition, one of the side bits (that hold the blades in place) was missing and the "Lubricating" strip was in pieces too. If he really cut himself whilst using that then IMO he deserved a scar on his face to remind him of his stupidity.

Its like in America where some clothes have "Do not iron whilst wearing" on the label.

I fell and twisted my knee falling off a chair I had to stand on to put a display up at work a few years ago (no stepladders in the building). Did I rush to claim? Nah - accidents happen.

Had a car shunt last year - the kind that happen every day - someone went into the back of me at lights, and I think I got asked about 5 times while on the phone ringing the claim in if I wanted to sue for personal injury - I'm like "NOOOO! Just organize getting me flipping car fixed!"

Hate this world we live in where we have to be super cautious against the stupidity of the rest of the human race because "where there's blame there's a claim." Sad thing is it limits the opportunities offered to kids and the like because people are so quick to try to grab a quick quid - they'll be on the phone to these firms quicker than you can say compensation (I personally hate the one with that guy from The Bill on most) - so much so that I'm personally not prepared to lead school trips etc - it's just not worth the personal risk in case, despite risk assessments, adult-child ratios etc - a freak accident happens, a child trips over or anything and you get hung out to dry.

    Nice world huh?

That program featured a school where on a school sports day one of the parents tripped over during an egg & spoon race or something, the school no longer invites parents to join in.

It also had a schoolboy who (pushed by his parents) claimed about fracturing his toe while playing football. If someone did that while I was at school they would have had the !!!!!! kicked out of them for being such a crybaby.

and if one of you ambulance chasing haters trips over a broken kerbstone which has been that way for months as the council cant be aresed to mend it, and badly breaks an ankle resulting in months off work, not being able to pay the mortgage and possibly losing your job? you will then of course, shrug and say, well it was just an accident.

Yes it was. I'd complain about it to the council - but no I wouldn't go running to sue because I'm not a money-grabbing-douchebag, accidents happen, I trip over regularly anyway because I'm dyspraxic and things just happen. If I don't work, I don't get paid - but no, I still wouldn't be running to sue because I hate the pathetic way society's sliding into pitting people against each other in a massive money-grab/backstab-fest.

Of course there are some on here who'd run kicking and screaming to sue everyone - the thread about the person wanting to sue a friend who'd been looking after her kid being one that springs to mind. There are genuine tragedies, genuine corporate screw ups where blame should be apportioned - but a broken paving stone?! Pathetic.
