ooh - me as well, Why on EARTH would you go up a ladder like that in those circumstances... - and that stupid woman who slips on the wet floor - despite her walking straight towards a puddle.....

though I do let off the lady who is carrying the box and trips on that wrapping stuff - but even so, 90% of the things that happen used to be called accidents.....

haha so true... that advert really annoys me. I'm sure if she was wearing suitable footwear she wouldn't have fallen.

What you lot do not realise is that all of these unlucky people happen to live in Holby which explains why they have such unfortunate accidents

i don't live in holby but i still have plenty of accidents,
i was at work when a ladder fell and hit me in the face, smashing my front tooth (totally true!)
and i broke my baby toe by stubbing it on a ladder that hubby left in the hallyway.
the thought of suing anyone never entered my head because i know it's my own stupidity :D

although i do kinda have a phobia of ladders now,,, maybe that's why i hate that advert so much?

arrrgh they're out to get me!!!

hmm against that is working for say a well know high street retailer who uses catalogue numbers - whose workers have to use the ladders supplied by them in their stockrooms. and are rickety to say the least - not to mention they expect one solitary female who weighs about 8 stone to retrieve a 32" tv from the top shelf of a stockroom.
then there is the slippery floor - cleaners who do not dry the floor as they are supposed to. is that the customers fault for slipping on it?
oh and the three year old who had an umbrella given her with faulty spokes which went through her cheek causing permanent scarring. cos it was sold by a discount company who bought it from god knows where! the childs fault?
I could go on - yes I worked for an ambulance chaser company - but i never knowingly put in a false claim. probably why i didnt last long there!
but i also saw many legitimate claims - if someone is negligent to my mind they are responsible and should make reparation.
i always used this criteria - could the victim have foreseen the accident? who was at fault? could they have foreseen the accident?
if the last one was no - then i didnt put it in. but sometimes people were so stupid!!! talk about accident waiting to happen!!!

In todays climate, I wouldnt be surprised if the people who claim against their employer for 'accidents' return to work only to find they no longer have a job, that the company folded due to the massive payout and that the huge tv and holiday they spent the money on will not feed their family

    :rotfl:

I think the word 'accident' and 'negligence' are being confused these days. If I suffered injury due to someone else not doing their job right (scaffholding falling on me, botched operation...) then I would consider claiming - only if there was nothing I could have done to avoid it.
