Meh. Seem to have been awake on and off all night and have woken up with a throat that feels like its been scrubbed with sandpaper. Despite that I'm feeling very rested which is just as well because I'm spending two hours teaching 45 5 and 6 year olds road safety.

Feeli like I'm starting to get on top of things. Have bids on some of my E-bay items and have had lots of questions about the one item that I thought I'd be taking to the tip. Just goes to show you can't predict what will sell on E-bay.

Plans for today involve housework and only housework. Place is a dump. Need to be very ruthless in my wardrobe again as I'm still opening my t-shirt drawer and discarding stuff as unsuitable. If I'm not going to wear it then its pointless it being in there. Hopefully a mad hour or so with a vac and a mop will make a big difference to the superficial things leaving me free to tackle other stuff. Just getting rid of the paperwork strewn around the kitchen made a difference yesterday. Have tree days until OH returns so have to make it look like I did something other than slob around reading books in his absence.

Cheating a bit but have loaded the dishwasher thus vastly reducing the amount of washing up that needs doing. First load done, think its going to take another two to reradicate the mountain. First load of washing is on the line, second lot ins in the machine and I can almost see the bottom of the laundry basket. No chance of rediscovering the arm chair for quite some time though.

OH phoned earlier, we seem to talk more when hes away than we do when hes here. Must make more of an effort when he returns. I fear I'm guilty of treating him like part of the furniture - I jump up and down on him, snuggle up on him and otherwise tend to ignore him. Think he'd be a bit peeved if I did less jumping up and down but I'm sure I can manage to talk to him more rather than at him.

Attempted to have a ruthless clothing clearout but failed miserably. Two t-shirts, two jumpers and two pairs of sweat pants disposed of. Not quite what I had in mind but still its six items less crammed into cupboards and drawers.

Doing an emergency late night rug wash thanks to DD1 sharing her bedtime hot chocolate with it. Planning to hit the sack asap as I'm absolutely shattered and really really cranky.

Despite pottering about in a pretense at housework the place doesn't look any better. Have two more days until OH returns to do something about it. Fat chance of the magic cleaning faries paying me a visit though. Too tired to do anything much so haven't spent any money since Sunday. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that. I'd kill for a packet of Bacon Frazzles though.

Plans for today are much like those for every other day and feature laundry and housework which are code words for reading books and drinking coffee. Must try harder.

A very traumatised DD2 has appeared to inform me that she can't go to school today because her wee is blue. That'll be the LooBloo that I put in the cistern to combat the limescale then. Still shes very stubborn (like me) and is adament that she is actually very very poorly and needs the day at home drinking coloured drinks to make her better. I think not.

Have stopped for lunch. In truth I never really got started. Have tackled the laundry pile and can now see the arm chair. In the process have lost the sofa under several small hillocks of neatly folded laundry. Figure another half hour of ironing will see the back of it. After tomorrow the DDs can waer their uncreasable summer dresses which will make life so much easier.

Clandestine negotiations resulted in the sale of one of my E-bay listings for £14.72 profit which considering I didn't think it would shift is most excellent news. Another 1100 items like that would see our debt gone. Being debt free is so close and yet so very far away. Still its an incentive to get listing again. Unfortuanately that means you'll be forced to put up with all the moaning about it because I hate listing on E-bay with a passion almost as much as I hate the moronic questions that the imbecilic buyers ask. Question of the day relating to an outgrown neon pink pair of shoes.... do you have them in blue? Meh. I despair I really do.

Running so much later than I thought I was. Need to get a move on if I'm going to finish the laundry and put the ironing board away before departing for work and the Post Office.

Just when you think you've heard it all you realise you haven't. Irate question of the day comes from an E-bayer who demanded to know why I'd removed an item from sale. Do these people have nothing better to do than whinge and maon and compalin says she who has spent the past few months whinging and moaning and complaining about just about everything.

Managed to get the DDs into bed relatively early for once. Did the remainder of the ironing whilst they were having dinner. Purchased a bottle of plonk on the way home blowing £9.60 on random things we didn't need. Munched my way through a plate of cheese and biscuits in place of dinner. Had run out of steam by then. Not entirely convinced I can manage the vino either so am being extremely decadent and taking it to bed to read with a v. wierd book by Pat Barker about hookers on the breadline. Am making myself read and dispose of the books hogging shelf space that seemed like a good idea at the time but remain unread some five or so years later. I'm averaging 3 books a week at the mo. which is a little excessive even by my usual standards.

OH returns tomorrow. House isn't disasterously bad but definately falls within the could do better category. Will have another go tomorrow. Have clean sheets on the bed which makes all the difference in the world, espectially as tonight they're mine, all mine *mwah ha ha* and I don't have to share them with the snoring, farting, drooling, trouser vegetable scratching thing that is my dearly beloved.

Thank crunchie its Friday despite it only being Thursday. Today is the last day of school for the offspring for 2 1/2 weeks. Its MUFTI day (£1 donation) for everyone apart from DD1s class who are off to high school building hovercrafts for the day. Have to send her with cold hard cash (£2) and instructions not to feed it to the vending machines but to remeber to locate the canteen and purchase food acceptable to a parent. Have visions of her coming home hungry having had a botle of coke and a bag of crisps at 9:15am.

Tonight is also the night of the dreaded Easter Bingo. Am looking forward to that like I would a frontal lobotomy. It'll be fun, really it will. Theres nowt like 200 people crammed into a confined space with a bingo caller to make you look forward to the peace of being at home alone.

Plans for today extend as far as domesticated activities, mostly involving washing up and putting away the stuff thats been occupying the didnig room since Sunday., Whilst OH is away we tend to eat in the kitchen because its warmer. Really can't be bothered messing around lighting the coal stoves at 7pm only to go to bed an hour and a hlaf later just as its starting to get warm. A week of that doesn't seem to have made much difference to the coal bill though as yesterdays delivery was still £34. Still better that than £51.

Mucho gracias Hypno but I think vodka shots or Tequilla slammers would be more use.
