Sorted...... of course I should have tried it without the "G" - duh. Meanwhile you will by now have discovered that I am small black, hairy and sporting four legs. Not so much paranoid as decidedly un-photogenic.

For some reason, Facebook knew I was using a fake name when I tried to create the account with Flying, but was fooled by the lack of a G.

    Very odd :D

Horse riding over. DD2 managed a spectacular dismount involving a 36o degree spin between the ears managing to land on her feet still attached to the reins. The DDs have been invited to attend theory classes on a Sunday evening for a mere £10 each and they also get to purchase Pony Club hoodies for £20 each. Need to talk them out of this. Its not so much the cash as the time. Feel like I'm constantly rushing from one thing to another. The idea of spending a day at DD1s airgun club to then get changed and run out the door to Pony Club does not fill me with enthusiasm.

Have 40 minutes until beds arrive. Obviously if I work my behind off getting ready they won't arrive until 6pm whereas if I slob around doing nowt they'll arrive even earlier than anticipated. Am taking the leisurely coffee drinking approach to this before making a start.

Nah. The unwritten law of oven cleaning states that the nano second the oven is clean something sticky will lurch out of the dish on the first available opportunity and weld itself to the inards of the oven so that the next time you clean the oven it takes just as long as it did the time before. The secret to a clean oven is never to cook. Sadly though starvation is not an option.

This I agree with completely :rotfl:

Beds arrived before I'd finished making space for them. Got them built and the beds made before rearranging the furniture in DD2s room to give her a huge play space. Managed to dispose of another bin bag of outgrown clothes so I have a boot load to drop off on Monday. DD2 is ecstatic. Took her old bed outside and obliterated it with a crowbar doing such a good job that we managed to wedge the whole caboodle matress and all into the back of the worlds smallest car and had space left to cram in a few other bits of tat too. Arrived home and realised I'd forgotten to throw in the headboard so will be returning to the tip on Monday. No excuse not to dump some other stuff at the same time.

Of course all this productivity lead to a barney with OH who wanted to drive the 20 minutes to a friends house to borrow their car, to drive to their friends house, to collect a trailer, to drive back here, to load up, to go to the tip and then return the vehicles from whence they came. My way apparently was not the way to do things. Me being stubborn refused to let him hassle other people to do something more time consuming and disruptive besides which I was having much fun with the crowbar. Pointless arguement over nothing that mattered. Much like many of the arguements we have.

The DDs rooms are now tidy, getting trid of the elderly honking matresses has made them smell much better too. Just need to hope DD1s current dry patch continues although her mattress is protected by a shower curtain just in case. Its the only thing I've found that can cope with the volume without leaking.

Should be going to DD1s shoot but DD2 is barking and complaining of a sore throat so will be staying home instead. Am sure I can come up with something productive to do although it won't be jam making as we've been unable to source wax discs locally which appear to be the one thing that we can't improvise.

I've never used a wax disc in my jam/cutney/jelly making....as long as the jars are sterile and the lid screws on tight you'll be ok.....if you're that worried, stretch some cling film over the neck before screwing on the lid.

    No excuses! :D

Fab! Thank you, I was vaguely concerend that my x-mas gift tot he rellies would be a jar of E. coli. I'll persuade DD2 that some fresh air will do her good and drag her out for a hike as soon as DD1 surfaces which won't be anytime soon.

Moo....I never use the discs either (can't decide which way up they should go really) but I remember watching the series about local produce shows and the judges of the preserves bit slated those who used a wax disc in a screw top jar. they said either wax disc and cellophane disc secured with an elastic band or, a screw top.

I have found that if the jar is warm out of the oven and the filling is hot, then when the lid is on, as it cools the safety button pops down as it all cools and contracts. Usually in the middle of the night here :rotfl:

Well done on getting the beds sorted and the old one off to the tip, amazing what these tiny cars can hold.

Ugh. Turns out the marks that won't shift on the stainless steel splash back are caused by rust. Not entirely sure how thats happened as I've only ever cleaned it with washing up liquid. Have spent a fun filled half hour with a can of WD40 polishing out the superficial ones. Now have to figure out what to do with the deeper pits. Am thinking perhaps a chrome car polish may do the trick but will do a bit of research first just in case its likely to go up in flames halfway through cooking dinner.

DD2 has returned to her pit resulting in a v. odd conversation with OH who offered to collect her from the shoot but was told he couldn't because she was in bed. Of course the obvious response is to ask where I am. Sometimes disbelief is the only way to deal with things. Ended the conversation wondering if he'd said what I thought he'd said or if I'd just imagined the whole thing.

Degreasing the extractor by chucking the filters in the dishwasher along with the gridle. Sadly its too small to take the pan stand thingies that go on top of the hob so I'll have to soak them in the sink for an eternity in biological washing poweder in the hopes of removing the baked on detritus from them.

    Its fun, fun, fun.

At least OH is on his way home so I can take DD1 forraging whilst oH and DD2 sleep.
