Thank you for a lovely picnic today
Hope that Paranoid Husband found you and that you were able to assure him I'm not a man intent on stealthily kidnapping you!
PS...for the internet folk who haven't met her, moo's hair is a glorious shade of purple0 -
T'was indeed fun and v. nice to meet you, though the folks at work were most disappointed that you weren't a 40 something axe wielding madman who lured me back to a hotel room and did unspeakable things. The paranoid OH seems to have recovered rather quickly, no doubt helped by the purchase of another rifle whilst we lunched. I could bang my head against a brick wall but it really doesn't seem worth the effort.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Have started on the dining room however its a bigger shoitehole than I'd realised. Even evicting the furniture so that I can get to the floor hasn't achieved much. Really really need OH to OK getting rid of some of his stuff because we can't move for it. DD1s wardrobe is crammed with diving gear and guitars although he hasn't used either since way before she was born. Tis most infuriating.
Off to immerse myself in the clutter busting in the hopes of achieving something.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Decided whilst I was at it to tackle the tardis under the stairs so that I could cram some of the carp from the dining room into it. Its taken two hours but I now have 4 bin bags in the carboot to dispose of via various means, 1 fish tank offered on Freecycle and a dining room floor (am ignoring the hunk of Landie in the corner). Next on the agenda is dusting followed by vacuuming (which is more likely to be quiet sweeping as OH is asleep on the sofa) and then ironing. Oh joy.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Wide awake at 5am. Too many random irrelevant things on my mind and a kitten chewing my hair didn't help.
Finally making some headway with the puppy who has decided after six months that when I say "time to go to school" what I want her to do is wander into puppy land demurely and settle down until I return. Its previously been a game of who can shove through the door first followed by a quick race around the house and several further attempts to confine her to somewhere she can't get up to any mischief.
Yesterdays manic tidy seems to have worked miracles. Finally seem to be getting somewhere. I arrived home to a clean and tidy hallway, walked thorough a clutter free dining room (the echo is going to drive me nuts) and into a kitchen where every worksurface was clear. The bedrooms are at the same level, nothing a quick ten minute toy tidy wouldn't sort out. So the only thing left to do is tackle the ginormous open plan lounge and puppy land, which seems to be where everything has migrated to. I might not be debt free by my birthday but I will have the home I want by then.
Dropped all yesterdays recycleable clutter in the relevant recycling bins on my way home yesterday evening so the boot is clear for the next load. Todays plans involve the open plan bit of the house. Did make a start yesterday by doing the ironing so that all the laundry is away in its proper place. E-bay have helpfully e-mailed to say its free listing this weekend so I should be able to clear some more carp that way. By the end of the day I intend to have a lounge worthy of visitors. Have recently cleared out the cupboards and drawers in this section so I shouldn't get too sidetracked.
Got the latest figures through. Am down to 8.5K so everything seems to be heading in the right direction. Holiday overtime was paid yesterday, am £1 off payout on the scratchcards and am almost at payout with a couple of survey companies. Have also noticed that onepol have upped their survey rate to a whopping 15p. Still going to be a few years before I reach £40 though.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Morning Moo.
Good news on the de-cluttering progress.
Cleaning does become much easier if you haven't got yo move and re-home oodles of carp first.
Maybe now the DDs are back at school it's helping the puppy with her routine.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

and so having evicted several gazillion spiders from ceilings OH and I went car shopping. It came a bit out of the blue but since it was raining and we both wanted to get out and do something it did at least get us out of the house although I hate car shopping with a passion. Incidentally the salesmen we came across also appear to hate it when I'm car shopping.
Started off at the posh dealerships in order to get an idea whats available. Telling the sales guys I'm after a huge boot in something that seats three adults with head supports appeared to cause much confusion. The many suggestions included a transit van, a kangoo...van...., a maxi something or other that looked more like an airport run taxi than a van and of course traditional style white van man vans. Apparently the boot of the Toyota Avensi Verso would be big enough but it comes with a 20K price tag. Yeah hmm told the sales guy thats about four times what I was thinking and he looked at me like I had two heads. Everywhere else we tried had little cars much like my current shoebox. Anything bigger seemed to be a 7 seater with an automatic gearbox. Meh. OH now has his heart set v. firmly on a 2.5l petrol Volvo XC which is a real steal with a mere 150K on the clock. Its had only one previous owner but having seen the way the local constabulary drive this does not fill me with confidence. I feel much research coming my way.
Had another barney last night because as OH woke me up to inform me I am a selfish biatch more interested in helping complete strangers than my own family. Twonk. Not sure where he dreams these things up. Infuriatingly its made me think twice about going to todays event which, as I've been looking forward to it for months, has really put a downer on the whole thing. Its so unfair when he pulls stunts like that. Whinge whinge moan moan.
I have a kitchen heaving with empty jam jars thanks to a friend who had a garage clear out. I also have a huge pile of apples and have just noticed the damsons on the tree are impersonating lemmings so they must be about ripe. I feel a spot of jam making coming on.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
