Moo, I have a complaint - I was going to start cooking my dinner at 7ish but started reading (have been away so had to go back to the 12th) & I've been so drawn in I've only just finished & I'm starving!!!
Boo to the randomness of OH's job but yay to the hair, I think it sounds fabulous

Hope you have more luck with the CCTV than we did. The gypsies backed into and over our 5 bar gate, armed with an oxyacetylene cutter which they used on our container door. They emptied said container of all our tools and equipment (we are self building), waved at the camera and left.
The Police said that was the problem with living in such a quiet area!!! and with so few neighbours. We've been camping out here ever since.0 -
HELLO is anybody home? You are very quiet, hope all is well. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Helloooooo! Have had a fab three days camped in a field an hour from home reading books, greenlaning over the most breath takingly beautiful scenery ever and generally behaving badly to the point that DD2 asked if it would be ok to go to bed at 1:30am yesterday morning as she couldn't dance any more. Have to admit I was clueless that it was that late, after all when the live ents finish at 11pm you expect them to finish vaguely near 11pm but the live band were still going strong. Am now fully recharged, showered (the only downside to rough camping) and have done two loads of laundry. Next on the agenda is hosing the mud off the landie as its liberally splattered.
OH and his friend seem to have had a fab time as have the DDs. I took 3 novels but only managed to read one of them thanks to the others borrowing my surplus books. The DDs won lots of prizes from highest score in the quiz to the best colouring in. Sadly although I entered I was pipped at the post by the person who added fluffy dice to their picture - god darn it - why didn't I think of that?
Nothing of any interest on the CCTV but thats a v. good thing. Now sitting around waiting for sleeping bags to air so that they can all be stored until next spring.
The four legged fiend and her accomplice were about as badly behaved as could be expected. But she does seem to be geting better with each outing although chewing through her lead in the middle of the night to go on the rampage was not her best move ever. It was quite funny though, especially for the poor chap who found her sitting guarding the portaloo thus trapping him in there for quite some time.
Arrived home to find that my Amazon vouchers had appeared so have ordered both Hedgerow and Preserves. Sadly the balance wasn't quite enough to cover 'shrooms too. Will be purchasing that next time though. Think 500 pages of forraging and what to do with it afterwards should keep me quiet for a bit though. Ate freshly forraged hazelnuts yesterday, they're nowt like the storebought things, they're chewy for a start and much much sweeter. Makes you wonder what else is nicer fresh and free.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Sorry Honeybear, I hadn't realised I'd waffled quite so much. I do it by accident shortly before I put my foot in my mouth.
Camping was enlightening in more ways than one. Went to find a pen which meant rummaging in the various pockets of three vehicles and came across a helpline leaflet for male victims of domestic abuse. Refrained from laughing out loud. Have yet to work out the best way to bring this up in conversation with OH. Somehow "so you think you're a battered husband" just doesn't seem tactful enough. Makes you wonder just whats going on in other peoples heads though. Does OH really think hes a victim rather than the reason I'm always on the defensive? Am I that defensive that I've turned into a bully? Is it something that ended up there by accident although as OH is not a gatherer of leaflets thats really not likely. Is it just funny (in a warped and twisted way) that the end result of OH being a right tit is that he thinks hes the innocent party in all this? More worryingly does this now make me the perfect guest on The Jeremy Kyle Show?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Crikey, Moo, forget being on Jeremy Kyle, I reckon you could have your own show!
Who knows how on earth he ended up with the leaflet? And, from what you've said in the past, I'd be amazed if he can feel that he's the victim. Without knowing what's going on in his head, it's v.tricky to say. Hopefully it could mean he's also thinking about how to work on your relationship
I wish you all the best, lovey. And you don't waffle at all, you write brilliantly & amazingly honestly. I still back the "Moo to write novels" campaign@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Not sure about the writing novels thing, there are days when I struggle to write my own name although mnoostly that occurs on the signature line of my cheque book. I get half way through and then wonder to myself how the heck it ends. No wonder they're phasing out cheques, it'll save the bank a fortune on phone calls to me to ask if I've recently broken my arm - suppose thats bank speak for a v. doddgy looking cheque has arrived with your writing on it but its not the first. Still better than the one that sent me overdrawn in 1998 (memory like an elephant) whilst on holiday in Cyprus when OH wrote and signed a string of cheques from my multipurpose write the cheque in any currency you like cheque book rather than his.
Following on from last nights wierd crisis of conscience OH woke me up to ask if there was anything I wanted to stalk about. At midnight? No I think not. Paranoia has now set in though.V. briefly I might add. Its one thing waffling away to myself knowing that no one I know reads this and quite another if someone I know does. The more logical part of my brain tells me thisis purely co-icidence. I get the distinct impression that diary reading and writing is for primarily for girlies, feel free to correct me if I'm I'm wrong.
Normality resumes today with a bang. I was under the illusion that I wasn't officially expected at work until Wednesday but my boss seems to think otherwise so I'm aiming for a 7:45 start *snigger* must locate a watch in order to stand a chance of this occurring although I haven't seen mine since school broke up for the summer. It could be anywhere. The likelihood of finding it this morning is minimal at best and will most probably end with the relelation that the battery has died from neglect.
Am fairly sure teaching staff aren't due in until tomorrow which is just as well because I still have two classrooms to finish, an awful lot of corridors to vac and a hall full of furniture to return to its rightful place before polishing the stage and finishing painting the bits of external fencing that parents will lean upon on Thursday. Perhaps I should have gone in last week.... still I have two more child free days in which to work minor miracles. Just hope no one mentions the greenhouse which is still flat packed in the entry vestibule.
The four-legged fiend is behaving suspiciously well having spent three days tethered to a dog spike and a Landie once the dog spikes bent sideways to the point of uselessness. She went to bed once the outside door was shut rather than wedging herself in the doorway on her back and clamping her jaws around my hand as I attempt to shove her in. Most odd. I did consider going back in to check she was feeling OK but I've a feeling she was just relieved to be home. No doubt normailty will resume v. quickly.
Normality is setting in rather too quickly here. THe freezer is still chocka which means theres no space for bread and we keep running out, mainly due to the DDs popping out to feed the chickens a few slices every hour. OH has v. magnanimously volunteered to brave mr T.s despite being told that Lidl would be fine. Bet I come home to a whole load of stuff that I can't cram in the cupboards or freezer. Still at least he means well.
Need to bung yesterdays wet washing on the line and more in the machine and leave a note to be ignored regarding the emptying of said machine. Also need to wash up the remainder of the camping pots and pans so that they too can be stored until next year.
Gave in and swapped the summer duvet for the winter one yesterday, its too cold to sleep with the window open otherwise. Suppose I need to think about transforming some of the scrap timber into kindling in anticipation of heating the house when the temperature really drops. Must also drop hints to OH about repairing the log stores before ordering logs. Seem to be tons of things that I haven't managed to get done over the holidays despite being at home all the time. DD2s new bed arrives at the weekend but theres no chance of getting it into her room at the mo. Tis a veritable disaster zone despite claims that it has been tidied. At least they're back to school on Thursday!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Have resorted to threats in the hope of inspiring the DDs to tidy their rooms. Clearly its working. THe idea of their new matressess being canceleed because the delivery guys can't get them into their rooms was a work of sheer genius and one that can be used repeatedly over the next five days.
Meanwhle I came sooo close to finishing painting the section of fencing surrounding early years but was scuppered by the dregs of the can failing to stretch that far. Will be harassing the boss into authorising the purchase of another can tomorrow.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
