Ummmm if my motivation is to be found playing games on Facebook then yes its back. If however it means I've got off my bum and done something productive since last posting then thats a resounding no.

Cakes are smelling lurverly which means I need to start mixing the ingredients together for the next one. On the brightside each cake takes 4 large eggs or 8 bantam sized ones so I'm making some headway into the mountain of eggs lurking in the fridge.

I like the softly softly approach to decluttering but am making the most of not having anyone underfoot to say you can't get rid of that dust covered monstrosity that some long forgotten person thought we might like. Would love to persuade OH to part with the hideous lamps that his mother brought back from Germany for him a decade agao which neither of us like to the point that we've never bothered changing the plug to fit a UK socket. Can I get rid of them? nooo his mother might be offended, not that shes been here since the flying 4 hour visit the weekend DD2 was born. Meh. Feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall.

Can the lamps not 'accidently' brake, hence the need to throw them away. Or throw them away and say they were too lovely to have on show as you were afraid they would get broken?

Sadly because OHs mother gave them to him they are sacred relics to be worshipped since gifts from her are v. few. Apparently she has x-mas gifts for the DDs to give them whilst they are there. Why she couldn't post them is way beyond me. Tis much like the year DD1 turned four when she was presented at Easter with the Christmas gifts from the previous two years. Clothes in an age 2, toys for a baby etc. etc. Have warned the DDs that should Nana give them parcels they are to accept graciously regardless of what the contents may be. Have told them if its really hideous they can E-bay them and get something they do want with the proceeds. Then had to explain that its best if Nana doesn't know this because she might get a bit grumpy.

Meanwhile the next two cakes are in the oven. Was planning to be v. efficient and bake a lasagne or macaroni chese whilst the oven is on but that means delaying dinner until 9pm and my tummy is already rumbling. Still it would make a v. tasty supper.

More challenging dilemas are afoot. What does one do with an assortment of skinless citrus fruit besides plonking them in some Gordon? Did vaguely consider marmalade but I've never made it before, I don't have any empty jam jars and quite frankly I really can't be bothered at the mo. Ugh. I googled and I really shouldn't have. Lemon slice deodorant anyone? I have visions of incredibly sticky armpits.

Having suffered my way through two mugs of the worlds blandest ever cafetiere coffee I have recklessly opened a pack of Taylors of Harrogates Italian blend which I was saving for a special occassion and it doesn't get much more special than this. Besides it goes perfectly with the rather decadent stilton and apricot cheese that I've slathered on oatcakes after first smearing them with a heart attack inducing amount of butter.

Lots of weeding done, lots more still to do but only half a wheelie bin left to cram it into. Garden looks a teeny weeny bit better.

Next job on the list is the remaking of the bed in the master bedroom before I really run out of steam and start listing on E-bay. It really is non-stop fun.

    I do don't I.

Bed made. Washing machine load no. 5 on. OHs sock and undie drawer degrotted. Men should not be allowed to purchase white underwear. Apologies if thats T.M.I. .... enough to make you go urgh.

Off to wash up. Again. Am now avoiding e-bay listing. Came across some deadseasource single use packs in the barely shutting girlie gunk drawer so am going to be plunging myself into a luxuriously deep soothing sea salt destressing candlelit bath with ginger whilst modeling the latest in heated seaweed mud masks. First I need to eradicate all traces of facial hair from the bath and move enough laundry from the floor to get in and out. Also need to make sure the four legged fiend is firmly shut out in puppy land otherwise shes likely to leap in with me. Will wait until the DDs have phoned otherwise just as the mask starts to harden the phone will ring.

Now that's more like it, got a book to read in the bath as well? Or is that just me?

I don't usually take a book into the bath but thats because once both DDs have arrived complete with an arsenal of My Little Ponies its totally pointless. Tonight could be a different matter, although it'll have to be a new book as The Booker Prize shortlisted "The clothes on their back" is duller than a very dull thing on a wet and miserable evening when the only thing on the telly is reruns of Taggart. Must not get sidetracked turfing all the stuff on the bookcase that I've aquired but never got round to reading for one reason or another. Must also ensure the book of choice is not something I'll want to reread just in case I drop it.

Books do dry out. I once spilt a bottle of water over a book i borrowed off a boyfriend when i was 18. He was less than impressed so i kept the book, eventually left the boyfriend, & went on to read the following 11 books in the series over the following 16 years! :rotfl:

Friends don't lend me books due to wrinkled pages! Mind you I have a large 'shelf' to rest them on!
