:eek::eek:Oh heck the school sounds:eek::eek:
Is the school so good that it actually merits putting a kid throught that?
Sounds very pressured.......for the parents let alone the kids:D
Think you might need some of these:beer:

The school is superb, particularly with its approach to the educationally challenged. It was unanimously decided by those in the know that this is the place best suited to DD1. Mostly because she needs a very rigid day in order to be happy. If she knows whats coming next she doesn't worry about it hence having to plan for every contingency no matter how far fetched. Also means that she'll get all the extra help and support she needs.
On the brightside DD1 and her companion in crime were spotted standing at the right bus stop at 8:15am. Obviously setting the alarms on both phones and having the other childs mum phone them to make sure they'd left the house worked. Haven't had any phone calls so can only assume they made it to the right school without incident.
Was given a humungous sponge cake as a thank you by one of the parents at school so will be leaving that with a note for DD1 when she gets home. OH is collecting her from her friends house and should be bringing her straight to primary school to collect DD2 so hopefully by 4pm I'll know how her day went.
Off to do something as distraction therapy which does not involve perusing Amazon, tempting as that is I fear I may end up with a copy of Hovel in the Hills but I still have a gazillion books to wade my way through despite having read nine novels in the last three weeks. No wonder I never get any housework done.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
DD1 appears to have survived the day unscathed. Will find out more over the next few days. She seems totally and utterly drained and has scoffed a third of the giant cake before departing for todays martial arts class. Hopefully she'll decide shes enjoyed herself, even if she couldn't find the school cinema at lunchtime and had to sit and talk to total strangers instead.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Morning Moo
You are certainly still as busy as ever. Its such a worry when the eldest moves to the 'big school', I know how you feel.
My 2 eldest have gone to Ireland's biggest festival this weekend and I woke at 3.30 wondering are they ok, all things going through my mind. They will be be grand but we can't help being parents.
Have you had any news about the land nearby, it sounds ideal.
Sun shining here and I am getting organised as we are heading to London tomorrow for a break. Love London!!! So am in pretty good form.
Keep writing your diary.I look forward to reading your daily updates.

Ok no worries there then about the school if that is the one she needs! But gulp all the same.
Funny how these things are. Though we aren't affluent we live in an affluent area. Schools over here are rated (sort of) by decile, so if you have a decile 1 school, the surrounding area is very deprived etc. Now both of the two local secondary schools to us are decile 10 schools. So how come they are in the bottom 10 out of 40 Auckland schools? Am now feeling worried about DS1's schooling. I'm pretty sure weekends are supposed to be relaxing things. Days when you don't have to get up ridiculously early to go to work or school and days in which you get to do what you want when you want because you want to do it. Why then did I spend yesterday leaping in and out of the car chaufeuring the DD1s from one thing to the next nipping home in between to vacuum floors and tidy rooms? Humph. Twas neither relaxing nor therapeutic. Not for me anyway. THe DDs on the other hand had a most excellent day. They had riding lessons followed by trips to various friends houses. One went shopping in town with someone elses mother whilst the other went to the park before venturing forth to McDonalds.
Did manage to nip to the Country Market on the way home in time to tidy away. Sold another three jars of jam which is fab. Seems to be the same stuff each time so at least I know what to make during the week to top up the cupboard which is beginning to look rather barren in a way that only a cupboard with a hundred or so jars of jam can look barren. This firdays market is the biggest of the month so need to make sure I send two or even three of everything I've got.
Picked another couple of kilos of strawberries last night. Popped next door to get rid of some, ended up staying for a vino or two and rolling in the door a couple of hours later to find OH and the DDs watching the Muppet Show. Discovered at this point that I'd been absent for a hour or so. Oops. DDs finally made it to bed at 10pm. So much for an early night.
DD1 is suddenly worrying about her end of year prom. Apparently everyone else has new dresses for it. Pulled a rabbit out of a hat by rummaging round in my wardrobe and whipping out a strappy summer dress which is far too long and far too big for dd1 but by tying the spahghetti straps together at the back pulls into the perfect shape. Thank god for having a child with incredibly long hair which covers this up. Shes ecstatic that shes allowed to borrow it and she does look v. grown up in it. Have promised to spend today rifling through my mums jewellery box for clip on bling to accessorise. Now have to convince the child that less is more otherwise she'll end up looking like a female Mr T.
OH has made further progress on the landie. By this I mean his shopping list has grown quite considerably. Hes also sprayed up all the parts that arrived earlier in the week and fitted the speakers to the dashboard. Obviously the dashboard isn't in the landie, nor is it likely to be for quite some time. Am not entirely sure whether today is destined to be a day of short tempers as he attempts to feed the wiring loom into the chassis which he previously filled with waxoxy so the interior is full of solid wax making it v. difficult to get anything in through a v. small hole let alone something huge and easily damaged with lots of lumpy sticky outy bits which is also v. bendy and likely to get rather stuck rather a lot. The alternative is I spend the day drilling rivet out of body pannels in order to dismantle the back end and remove the holey bits so that the new bits can eventually be fitted. Am sure he'll go for the hardest option. Bah.
Hoping it stays dry long enough to get a gazillion loads of laundry done now that OH has removed yesterdays batch of sprayed parts. Need to get in quick before he starts on the next lot.
Further plans for today involve the mowing of the lawn since its reached the sort of height that makes poo patrol rather difficult. Have also run out of chicken feed so the clippings should keep tham happy until the feed merchants opens tomorrow.
Have five days to go until payday and £173 in the bank. Sadly I have to write a cheque for £175 to clear the credit card bill so will be at -£2 around Wednesday. Thankfully I have a £200 interest free overdraft buffer so its not as bad as it sounds. Have £14 in my wallet which I can eek out until then. Only have martial arts classes to pay for this week. Am still avoiding purchasing Hovel in the Hills although am becoming more and more tempted purely because this weeks book is not something I'm losing myself in. Its another of those destined to be abandoned before the end. Lifes too short to waste it on things I don't enjoy.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Oh that is ace that you were able to shop in your wardrobe for a dress for DD. I bet she was made up about that! I had to have my hair cut to get all of the yucky perm/ old colour out of it for the funeral. And I HATE IT. grr it is driving me bananas. So yeah for DD having long hair still LOL.
Oh dear about the landy part list. Is there any likelihood of getting any of it off freecycle. I had wished I had known about this before my friend moved to France as he had landy bits to get rid of....Sadly this is now all done. oops
