OH and I have separate Mr T cards. I use mine loads. He doesn't. I get 25p off vouchers if I spend a fiver on something obscure. He gets 25 points off a £1 spend on essentials and regularly gets £10 off a £50 shop. They don't appear to be account specific and since we have the same surname its no usually noticed.
Turns out I sold another two jars of jam this afternoon at a local school fete. Feeling rather chuffed despite not having been paid for any of my past sales. I have a feeling forgetting to hand my bank details to the treasurer could be a contributory factor.
45 miutes to go before collecting DD1 and collapsing in a heap. Will be using the time to stop the household broom honking after coming home to find OH using it to clear debris out from the bottom of the fishpond. Am v. tempted to incinerate it and buy a new one.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

i don't iron, or even have an iron:rotfl:
and moo is very motivational:).
i made 3 lots of cakes one night this week including chocolate and beetroot muffins.
also our new fridge/freezer arrived, so OH is harvesting and blanching veg like there's no tomorrow.
courgettes have been pickled, blanched, made into a pasta sauce and a cake.
just spied a recipe for banana flapjacks as i bought a load cheaply, so i might make some in morning, - o/wise they might end up in the freezer too! am off next week, so plan to empty old freezer into new, and defrost old one whilst haveing a look what we have got.
well done on jam sales too x0 -
Thank crunchie its Monday! OH and the DDs are out of the house for the majority of the week which means I get chance to deal with the aftermath of the weekend. I doubt a week is long enough but I'll give it a whiz.
Had a very lazy morning yesterday, or at least the other occupants of the house did. DD2 woke at 7 and vegged in front of the telly box. OH appeared at 7:30 and surfed e-bay whilst studiously avoiding doing anything else and DD1 managed to sleep until 10:30. I pootled doing many random things in and amongst four loads of laundry.
By 11am we were caked in factor 30 and at the model train thing. Had anticipated being there half an hour or so but the neighbouring sailing club had an open day so the DDs and I !!!!!!ed orf there leaving OH to it. He got to wander round and do engineery things to his little hearts content and catch up with a couple of people he used to work with whilst the DDs sailed boats and paddled canoes and sank someones remote controlled duck. Finally got home at 2pm with rather red arms and shoulders.
Grabbed a cuppa and then started on the next phase of project Landie. OH had the fab idea of carrying the rather cumbersome rear tub complete with all its shapr rusty sticky outy bits to the furthest extremeities of the garden negotiating a flight of stairs along the way. The DDs and I decided it would be easier to inflate the tyres on the knackered chasis now that OH has done with it and roll it through the gates and into the garden. In an ideal world I'd have rolled it in the other direction and sent it to the great scrapyard in the sky but that wasn't an option. Sounded simple. Took three hours to remove the junk it would have collided with on its very short journey around the gas tank. Mind you the garden is muchly tidier and the wheelie bin overflowing. DD2 was in charge of steering which involved hitting the tyres v. hard with a v. large hammer whilst OH and I attempted to stop it rolling back down the slope. Finaly managed to get it parked up in the garden where its as out of the way as its going to get but at least we can get to it with an angle grinder to chop it into chunks for disposal. Obviousy I'd be an awful lot happier if the sparks were another 30 or so metres from the gas tank but will have to rely on OH rembering to cover the tank with a wet blanket instead. Its far enough away not to be a problem but that doesn't stop me imagining the worst.
The end result is I can see greenery from my kitchen window for the first time in about five years. Sadly this reveals just how manky the window is so a spot of window cleaning ranks fairly high on todays agenda but not as high as a trip to Mr Ts as we're out of doggy chow.
Felt absolutely exhausted about 9pm last night but had to give in and vacuum the stairs because of the volume of dog hair on them. Am amazed the houd from hell isn't bald. By the time I'd done that and the hall and our room I was wide awake as were the neighbouring famers who decided to start baling the field with an antiquated baler which emited a v. loud thumping noise at random. Decided going to bed was pointless so ventured outside planting out more of DD1s courgette like things which could equally have been cucumbers or pumpkins or even squash. Picked another kilo of strawberries and surfed t'internet for an alternative recipe to plain strawberry jam. Came across one for rhubarb and strawberry so picked a kilo of rhubarb too. The rhubarb has been soaking in sugar overnight ready for transformation today. Quite when I'll fit that in is another matter entirely. Have a hundred and one other things that I could do with doing today but its unlikely I'll achieve many of them. Still it'll fill the rest of the week quite nicely.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
well done on still moving forward with project landy. I hope when you have a working landy, you put your foot down about OH EVER EVER EVER EVER doing a project like this again!!!

Blew £125 at Mr Ts and arrived home to a sod orf from Santander who won't be handing over £100 because I've had an account with Alliance and Leicester in recent memory. Am pretty sure thats not what the promotional offer said though. Doubt I can prove it. Still I got £50 from Quidco so its not been a complete waste. Means I can shift the direct debits and close the account which is one less place to remember to shuffle cash to each month.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Forgot all about collecting DD2 from cubs which meant I couldn't start jam making until 8:30pm. Utilised the time between getting home and going out to collect her to eat dinner, read a couple of chapters of a book and wash a couple of windows whilst retrieving random things for DD1 as she assisted OH and refitted more bits to project Landie. Unfortunately the more bits that go back on the bigger the list of parts required gets. Its looking more and more car like with every passing day though.
Finally made jam just before going to bed. Tis a most pleasant way to end an evening, all apart from the very sticky washing up that is but thats more than compensated for by the licking of the jam spoon and the pan. Hate to think how many gazillion calories that is but they tasted good, so good in fact that I'll be making Strawberry and Rhubarb jam again.
Had a quick scout around the house and garden and have filed the wheelie bin to the brim. Hoping I can find another couple of bits to cram on the top before departing for school.
Plans for the day involve laundry. Lots and lots of laundry. I've had a 24 hour reprieve but the basket is already cascading onto the floor. Am not entirely sure how the DDs manage to achieve this considering that I usually have to wrestle them out of the previous days grass stained school dress at breakfast. Have to play coupboard tetris in order to get the last of the shopping away. Took advantage of the many mutlibuy promotions at Mr Ts and ended up with half a dozen boxes of cereals and enough girlie products and shower gel to last well into 2012.
DD1 has ten days of primary school left and will spend half of them either away on trips or watching end of year drama performances and talent shows whilst doing very little work. Got collared by the year 6s for end of year mug shots for the staff award ceremony. Am dreading this. Its compulsory humiliation for all staff. Last year I was presented with a gold painted loo brush. Still it could have been worse. One of the year 2 teachers was mortified to be given a plastic troll as recognition for having the worst haircut in school. Have to make some sort of an effort today as I'm participating in the top secret year 6 video for a retiring teacher which means miming to some music whilst wearing a stick on mustache and trying not to laugh. Have been warned they have a costume for me to wear and I get it by default because everyone else is too big to get in it which means its a school play costume from the loft. Just hope its not a panto outfit.
Have had to fork out a tenner for DD1s trip next week and am anticipating £20 on random stuff at tomorrow nights high school meet and greet. Hopefully other than that and a trip to the feed merchants for chicken chow it should be a relatively low spend week which is perhaps just as well since OH ordered £200 of Landie parts yesterday. Still whilst hes busy doing things hes drinking very little which is an added bonus.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
