Very busy day there Moo. Luckily the rain has stopped here and the sun is shining which will allow me to get back out into the garden. If you know anybody that would like a 10ft by 8ft greenhouse and is willing to head my way to pick it up give me a shout.

Clearly greenhouses are a bit like buses, you wait ages for one and then two come along at once.

Cheri I'd love to take you up on this offer but the number of footballs and tennis balls and sticks that get lobbed around here in addition to the hurtling hound would be a catastrophe waiting to happen. It would be well worth you listing it on E-bay as buyer collects and dismantles (that way any damage or rusty bolts are their problem), you'd be shocked just how much it'll go for. The last one that size went for just over £300.

OH offered to buy me a polytunnel yesterday knowing just how much I covert these things. Did get v. excited aboutt he idea before realising that a greenhouse needs lots of attention on a daily basis and more importantly one which can blow away or be eaten by the hound is equally unlikely to last v. long plus OHs choice of site for it is on block paving which would mean everything had to be grown in pots (which the hound likes to run off with and shred) or grow bags which means so much more watering is needed. Declined his v. generous offer and splurged on a 3kg bag of seed potatoes instead which are being chitted ready for planting in the v. near future.

Took a long hard look at the elm and have reached the conclusion that its too spindly and rotten to risk the chainsaw so will be bringing it down limb by limb with a bow saw until we reach the trunk sections. This isn't as awful as it sounds but will be v. time consuming. Its a good excuse to get the climbing harness and ropes out and have some fun though.

The DDs both left their gradings with big cheesy grins on their faces, won't find out whether they've passed until their next lesson but really don't see how they can have failed the very first one.

Found a garage on the way home with a single pump of diesel and huge queues because of it. Managed to fill my tank up there after a half hour wait and an eek worthy £65 spend but have heard that they've since run out too. Am assuming theres a problem at the nearest refinery since the rest of the UK seems to have ample supplies.

Detoured home via a farm store with a 15% off day so stocked up on essential like chicken feed, sparkly riding crops and a new boiler suit for DD1 who has outgrown hers, it vastly reduces the amount of washing I have to do. Whilst there I spied a new preserving pan... talk about cheap and nasty, no wonder the 1950s pans are going for such high prices on e-bay.

Plans for this week involve aquiring four more planks of wood to finish the log stores roof followed by a spot of bitumen painting and the application of roof felt. After that the tree can be felled and we can start to fill it. Once thats out of the way the spuds can go in and a wee bit more progress will have been made.

Both dogs are moulting so need to do lots of sweeping because theres hair everywhere. Could also do with mopping up the muddy paw prints and cleaning the bathroom. Theres just no end to the fun today! Have an appointment with Attilla the dental hygienist today for my quarterly torture session to look forward to too.

Washing on the line, bleach down the loo and erm well thats it really. Have an hour to kill before departing for my torture session. Could feasibly get lots done before then but am favouring sitting on my derriere troughing toast.

Have dealt with some of the tat thats accumulated on the desk since last weeks decluttering session, however thats unearted more things to do that had conveniently been forgotten about. Need to sort out piccies of DD1 aged 4 for her school leavers book which means unearthing the shoebox of phtots and trawling through until something suitable appears. OH likes taking photos but then does nothing with them whilst I can't be bothered taking photos in the first place which he finds most odd.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgh so much for being a smart !!!!. Today is payday so I ingeneously moved all the wonga from my current account minus a rather pathetic £28 into my Hafilax account to qualify for this months free fiver. Seconds later I moved it onwards to Santander where it is now firmly stuck. Apparently its going to take 4 days to send any amount of cash anywhere. How completely and utterly useless is that? No doubt because day four falls on a Saturday it will take until Monday. Meh. Will be closing this account as soon as the free cash materialises I can't be doing with that amount of hassle each month. So between now and my next trip to a cash point I have the total sum of £28 in my current account which will just about cover the direct debits due out in the next week. I have a whole tenner in my wallet and I have enough left in my Halifax account to cover direct debits just in case they don't get moved this month. Pants, pants, pants. Hopefuly I can go into the post office and withdraw cash over the counter and then pay it into another account, any account and then shuffle it where it needs to be. Talk about a pain in the bum! Will be filling in the paperwork for a cheque book since thats got to be easier and probably faster than a four day wait. Meh. Talk about the Tuesday morning blues!

Collected more timber for OH yesterday so hopefully the log store will be completed today ready for the last bit to be creosoted. Otehr fun plans for the day involve road safety training and a whole lot of housework although thankfully not the ironing because I did that yesterday, although thats about all I did yesterday on account of how the retrieval of a stolen Ty Beanie Babie from the jaws of the hound from hell turned out not to involve a Ty Beanie Babie at all but a half eaten baby bunny. I didn't win that particularly gorey tug of war.

And so I came home via the village Post Office..... big mistake, huge mistake even. I explained to the ladies at the counter that I wished to transfer money from one account to another. Simples. Apparently all I had to do was withdraw the cash from account A and pay the cash into account B as a separate transaction. So cash duly withdrawn from account A at which point I'm asked for my paying in book.... erm... in a paperless society? really? pointed out I don't have one, nor do I have the paying in envelope which is apparently also required yet not provided and which can be order via the phone with delivery in approximately 10 days. Decided the simple thing to do was to return the cash from whence it came but apparently I couldn't do that without a paying in slip either. Am now stuck with negligable amounts of money in the bank and rather too much cash about my person. I forsee a trip to the civilised world and a branch of a bank at some point in the very near future. Moral of the story is it really doesn't pay to be a !!!!!!

Am going to have a decent cuppa made with real coffee in a cafetierre in the hopes that my day improves dramatically. After that I'm going to watch the rain land on this mornings washing before loading the slow cooker with tonights dinner.

Whoooooooo hoooooooooooooooo have just had an e-mail to say I've won a £10 gift voucher in the postal peoples random daily prize draw. Am doing the happy dance around the house.

Its the sort of day I'd love to say sod it all and go walk the dogs in the woods for the day but the hound from hell has just come into season so that would be an absolute nightmare. Will settle for playing ball in the garden instead.

A sympathy aargh for the hassle at the Post Office!

I meant to ask before about the website where you can buy lots of cinnamon sticks for £2?? I have run out and use them every so often but resent paying so much when they run out so quickly!

Hurrah for your tenner though, all I've won lately is £2 off GfK

    But it all helps!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

Makeup - I got the cinnamon sticks from The Spiceworks. Will definately be using them again.

Rather bizarely DD2 is downstairs fully dressed whilst I'm struggling to stay awake. My own fault for staying up till 10 to finish a book, another mediocre one at that.

Don't have much planned today which is just as well ecause I'm either going to be heading off in search of a bank or be braving the wrath of the ladies at the Post Office, neither is very appealing but one or other is v. necessary on account of covering the cheque that I wrote on Thursday to cover the DDs martial arts gradings. Really don't need the fees that go with a rubber cheque nor the embarasment of it happening. Would be most tempting to go for a mooch around the shops whilst I'm there, not that I need anything but just because it would make a change from spending the morning at home doing housework.

I have a £5 off £50 voucher to use at Mr Ts by sunday and a £20 off when I buy a £50 Mr T phone. Obviously I'll need to buy quite a bit more than the phone to get away with returning it for a hassle free £25 refund. V. naughty and all that but since that was the only incentive on offer for renewing their car insurance policy I guess thats the way its going to have to be. Would far rather just have had a £20 gift card like previous years, it doesn't feel quite so underhanded.
